All I really need to do now is work out how to get the Mindstorms brain into the Porsche and beat Google to a self driving car!
I think there is a guide on Youtube that shows how to turn it into a remote control car.

Mine has arrived bounce

Impressive box and booklet - feels like Lego have been looking at Apple!

Cheers Russy!

Did you know someone on brickset has noticed these? With no password whatsoever, you can see these offers as the best sellers in the more toys catagory.

Your sales numbers for these may shoot up rapidly very quickly.
Got a link?

Hi Podie,

I don't think that's very fair. The guys on Brickset are a great bunch and I don't see anything wrong with what happened. An offer was visible to the public for whatever reason, found and communicated in a specialist interest forum, very similar in many ways to here.
Problem fixed and hopefully little harm done.

Regards,

Charles
For anyone confused, I deleted my previous comment - which basically said it hacked me off.

Sorry chap, but I completely disagree with you. Over the last few years I've put a fair amount of effort in to sorting group buys and whilst I benefit in a cheaper product at launch like others do here - it does require effort. Russ on the other hand makes his living by selling Lego and other products. He has no obligation to give us a discount, and whilst he'll shift an extra 100 or so units, I doubt he'll be retiring on PHers group buys.

So a bit of work goes in, regulars and newbies (to Lego group buys, not PH) alike turn up and buy stuff. Everyone is happy.

People who have contributed nothing to this forum benefit. Specialist forum or not, they can either cruise the web looking for a deal or they could try and organise their own group buy.

This is entirely MY opinion and may not be shared by Russ.

I'm going to draw a line under this conversation as I don't want to taint a series of group buys that have been great fun.

Hi Podie,

I completely understand your position, but there was no underhand attempt to benefit from another group's buy. There are threads on Brickset for many major retailers, where members keep others appraised of good bargains found on those sites and Jadlam Racing is just one of them. The poster simply found the deal by searching the site and posted his findings. He even queried whether this was a mistake and, when told of the reason, that pretty much has ended discussion.
Again, I see nothing wrong with any of that.

No hard feelings, I hope, and good luck with all your group buys.

Regards,

Charles

No hard feelings at all - we can both have differing opinions (or perhaps I'm grumpier than usual) smile

Perhaps you should visit PH more often... the Lego group buys are pretty good you know... wink

Bit sick of LEGO if truth be told frown
hehe

Part of me is disappointed there is no B-model on the Porker, but then perhaps for the first time I'll actually put the stickers on...

Usually takes a few weeks for it to arrive.

That said, when I thought something was missing I've found it stuck to another piece somewhere in the box. Oops.
