Russ

How do I return my order for replacement? It looks as though you've sent me the LHD version by mistake!

Mine has arrived but as it's my birthday present to myself, I will be keeping it until mid-August when I have some time off work. I've got to help my son build his Millennium Falcon first, too.

Thanks again to Podie and Russy

Father Christmas stopped by my house a few months early today. But he had been on a diet, had a shave and drove a DPD van. I think the recession had arrived at the North Pole as all the presents were wrapped in brown cardboard.

Thank you Russ for a prompt and excellent shopping experience that has lightened my bank account by more than I should and for many hours of building enjoyment to come.

Russ you're a star, thank you so much for organising this!

Mine came on Monday, and it's a thing of pure amazeballness.

Glad you're all happy! Its certainly a nice model, cant decide whether to take one home or not! You get a bit sick of LEGO when you are surrounded by the stuff (and your daughter leaves it all over the house too!)

Did you know someone on brickset has noticed these? With no password whatsoever, you can see these offers as the best sellers in the more toys catagory.

Your sales numbers for these may shoot up rapidly very quickly.

Thanks for the heads up, but I have been on it all week and the stock is no longer on the site (its been a week so I have taken it off.)

Plus I have been crawling the web for links to these products all week waiting for some clever pants to find it!!! Then with your email addresses I have created groupings within our website customer groups which only allows certain people to actually buy this specific listings. I then have systems in place to personally warn me when products sell too fast, or in bulk (in the case of pricing errors) - so whilst its possible for the odd one to slip through there hasn't been a significant risk of them all flying out the door!

But thanks again for your help.

Hi Podie,

I don't think that's very fair. The guys on Brickset are a great bunch and I don't see anything wrong with what happened. An offer was visible to the public for whatever reason, found and communicated in a specialist interest forum, very similar in many ways to here.
Problem fixed and hopefully little harm done.

Regards,

Charles

For anyone confused, I deleted my previous comment - which basically said it hacked me off.

Sorry chap, but I completely disagree with you. Over the last few years I've put a fair amount of effort in to sorting group buys and whilst I benefit in a cheaper product at launch like others do here - it does require effort. Russ on the other hand makes his living by selling Lego and other products. He has no obligation to give us a discount, and whilst he'll shift an extra 100 or so units, I doubt he'll be retiring on PHers group buys.

So a bit of work goes in, regulars and newbies (to Lego group buys, not PH) alike turn up and buy stuff. Everyone is happy.

People who have contributed nothing to this forum benefit. Specialist forum or not, they can either cruise the web looking for a deal or they could try and organise their own group buy.

This is entirely MY opinion and may not be shared by Russ.

I'm going to draw a line under this conversation as I don't want to taint a series of group buys that have been great fun.

Hi Podie,

I completely understand your position, but there was no underhand attempt to benefit from another group's buy. There are threads on Brickset for many major retailers, where members keep others appraised of good bargains found on those sites and Jadlam Racing is just one of them. The poster simply found the deal by searching the site and posted his findings. He even queried whether this was a mistake and, when told of the reason, that pretty much has ended discussion.
Again, I see nothing wrong with any of that.

No hard feelings, I hope, and good luck with all your group buys.

Regards,

Charles

No hard feelings at all - we can both have differing opinions (or perhaps I'm grumpier than usual) smile

Perhaps you should visit PH more often... the Lego group buys are pretty good you know... wink

Thanks Podie, I think I will... :-)

My posting dried up due to children and selling my Esprit and not being able to find the time to go to Le Mans anymore... weeping

Anyway, I'll not derail this thread any further... As you were! :-)

Ok Ok , I best step in here...

There are absolutely no hard feelings towards Brickset, the listings they found have actually been visible on the website for a couple days due to a technical fault. So, the person who found it did a good job and was only being curious. Unlucky for them the listings were taken down today as the Group Buy has ended, also any orders placed by non PH'ers would have been recognised and questioned.

Again I just want to thank all the PH'ers who have taken part and the few who have issues courtesy of DPD will be sorted ASAP.

Thanks.
