What do people think of unimat?

Was thinking of playing about with nixie stuff and part of that needs drilling and lathing, but I don't need a big piece of equipment, so wondered if anyone has experience of the unimat series rather than full on go big or go home sized stuff?

Will need to get a band saw too as its mainly wood I will be working in.

Gerald Wingrove uses one, even wrote a book about using them.

The SL is a pretty decent little lathe. The cheap Unimats on ebay made from extrusions are crap, unless doing very light work on plastics.
