Revell Fokker D VII - colour scheme
Discussion
Hi all,
I've a Revell Fokker D VII with the paint scheme in Revell colours. The main colours I'm OK with finding replacements, but the underside is in the German four-colour camouflage scheme. Not managed to find conversion charts that I'm happy with. Does anyone have a good set of colours they'd recommend? I'm using Vallejo Model Air.
Thanks.

If it's the typical WW1 German "lozenge" pattern, I'd definitely go with decals.
I've got a Revell DVII in the stash and have bought a decal set for doing the same thing, also a generic photo-etch detail set.
Despite their age, they still build into nice models - especially with a bit of refinement.

That would be sensible but in a moment of ness I set my 2016 painting challenge to turn out a decent four colour lozenge pattern.
Will be tricky to perfect if it's 1:72 : The main colour patches would be fairly simple to do (although it's not really a random pattern), and the rib tapes were often also cut from the same lozenge material, and would probably be less than 1mm wide at small scale. The way the rib tapes interact with the main panels is quite distinctive.Gassing Station | Scale Models | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
