1/128 Fleetscale hull ( and bits)

Thinking of doing a 1/128 model of WW2 HMS Dido. Has anyone done anything like this, what parts are bought ready made or just need a bit of fettling, and what bits do i do from scratch, superstructure etc. Is thin brass ok to use as i cang get it laser cut via Autocad. want the model to look good rather than a float on the pond type thing
