I hear you - I'm working on the UCS Falcon and all the greys are not as much fun as looking at some of the modular buildings I have bought that are attracting me with their bright colours! (and possibly the realization that there are only so many work surfaces in my house and the Falcon is taking up a lot of space …)
dYea the huge Facon is amazing but just to big for my cinema room. I have the Ghostbusters Firehouse, Simpsons Kwicky mart and Death Star sitting here but also have the technic porsche gt3 and VW camper van arriving tomorrow lol, bloody Lepin daft me. What to build next though arghhhhh

Just gone for (two) of these. Lepin 21007.
I went for the super cheap delivery option (20-40 days) as its £10 less than DHL. Lets hope that wasn't a mistake!
That looks awesome!I went for the super cheap delivery option (20-40 days) as its £10 less than DHL. Lets hope that wasn't a mistake!
One thing I have found is the train wheels do not roll. We got the Amusement Park with Roller Coaster and it used the train wheels. They would not roll - I had to use a round needle file to get them to work as the opening is just ever so slightly too small.
Here is a review I found online for the Maersk train that confirms the wheels will not roll.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4G9ZIJNaqo (15:45 for wheels and magnets)
Here is his follow-up with a fix (he states the axles are too long - but in the Emerald they were the right length so he just filed them to the right length): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE8rRtL4OTo
In the video it is suggested to replace the whole assembly but perhaps just replacing the wheel itself (http://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-black-trainwheel-8-2-14-6-50254) but that does not address the weak magnet issue.
Let us know.

For the magnets, can you clip these together using a flat 2 block? Do they have studs on them (I could go and look but too lazy!)
I went for the $55 unmotorised one - we already have lego train remotes, motors & lights. I didn't realise some came with motors?

. The only weirdness was that the mini figures needed to be built (arms pushed onto the torso, hands pushed into the arms) - maybe this is the lego standard now, or perhaps it's just Lepin cost cutting (which I'm perfectly happy with!).
That's the lepin way. Least every set I have bought has been like that.grant666uk said:

The Death Star will take you a while. I think i would make the Kwicky Mart, myself. Close tie with the Firehouse. I was going to hang my Falcon from the ceiling using fishing line. It's too big to sit on a table, the wall hanging bit is kind of neat but I just like the idea of making it look like it is flying along (like a model airplane). Most likely in my daughter's room - she's really into Star Wars now and I think that would be something I would have loved in mine as a kid.

I'm tempted to get the Death Star. Can you advise if there might be any way of fitting the 75093 Death Star Final Duel kit into the Emporer's throne room on the Death Star? I've been wondering how we can combine my son's kits and add extra detail/playability.
I do not think there would be enough room to combine it in, in the stock Death Star. What did come to my mind was buying 3 or 4 Death Stars and combining them into a very large model - then you could add in the Throne Room as well as having the landing bay large enough to hold bigger ships.
It would be a lot of work and a lot of engineering and designing - I have no idea if anyone has done such a thing or not.

I just finished making my one of these, has taken about three weeks of 1-2 hours most nights! Way longer than lego/lepin! So fiddly!!!! Was fun, and the resultant model is really pretty good, but I'm never buying any more nano sized bricks Was a very good thing they provided that little blue brick separator/placement tool with it. Had to use tweezers for placing some of the tiny parts around the funnels as well.
Thanks to the original poster.
I got my DeCool 3353 (copy of lego 8051) sportsbike yesterday.
No actual DeCool branding (just King Steerer as seen on the DeCool porsche), no packaging (which i chose, but the plastic bagging was good).
Stickers are done decently, the print quality is good from what i can tell, but the designs themselves are a bit odd "Exploiture" rather then "Technic" on the tank-sides, and the 88 numbers on the side and tail fairings look upside down. The print on the top tank flap is below lego standards, but not bad.
Instructions are good enough, the colours are a bit off and there are a few odd modeling errors (axles obscured incorrectly by other parts) in their 3d software, but it works well, and the print quality is good.
Then the parts themselves. Quality is obviously lower then the real deal, some light grey axles have an orange tint, liftarms have oddly sharp edges, pins dont click like they should when connecting the cylinders, there are some gaps in some connectors where plastic is missing, bit that slide of axles are too tight requiring excess force, and the chain is just horrible. The shocks are waaaay off as well, the rear shock is too tight, the front shocks dont move freely, to the point where you cant push the front of the bike down due to the friction/clearance issues.
The end result of the build is a bike that looks just like the real thing, but doesnt work at all. Take a lego bike and push it a foot across a surface, and you will hear some very subtle sound from the chain/cogs, but it all moves very smoothly. Do the same with the DeCool bike, and within a foot of distance, you WILL break the chain because it just doesnt flex/bend like it should. There is waaaay too much friction in there, meaning its pointless for actual play.
It looks good, but especially for a theme like Technic, the tolerances and smoothness of it all just arent good enough.

Hi guys i ordered from toy factory what i thought was the grand emporium by lepin but what i received was the green emporium by what i think is lele which i my opinion is of less quality, can i dispute this with the seller as he has listed this including both lepin and lele in the item description and also i have emptied all the pieces from the plastic bags in to one big heap before i realised so can i still complain.any help would be appreciated.

I think the Lepin and lele are the same. What do you mean by 'green' emporium?
Some of my sets are lele and honestly I'm happy with them. I think they are probably the same bricks, just marketed by different companies.
Hello that's what it says on the manual and compared with my other lepin models the bricks seem more brittle and cheaper. Some of my sets are lele and honestly I'm happy with them. I think they are probably the same bricks, just marketed by different companies.

Lepin and Lele bricks are NOT the same. They are clearly from different moulds - just compare one to the other and you will clearly see where Lele has indents on the top of bricks that Lepin does not have. Some of my sets are lele and honestly I'm happy with them. Another difference, on the bottom of one 6x14 flat light grey plate is "1029-2" on the end, the other company's nearly identical plate has a "0009 02" stock number on the side of the underneath.
The seller may not even think there is a difference, but there is. You were sent the wrong product that you ordered in good faith and was advertised as by a different maker (Lepin). I would dispute the sale for that reason. Take a picture of the manual that shows it is not Lepin and include a picture of the advertisement for the one you did buy. That will win you the dispute (clearly showing you ordered on thing only to receive another).

Hi thanks for the reply, but the seller has got the lele and lepin models with both product numbers in the title and I have also opened the bags,so do you think I can still dispute this?Another difference, on the bottom of one 6x14 flat light grey plate is "1029-2" on the end, the other company's nearly identical plate has a "0009 02" stock number on the side of the underneath.

If what you bought was advertised as lepin/lele and what you recieved was lele then I don't think you have anything to complain about. Just be more careful in the future about what you order. Gassing Station | Scale Models | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
