OK, so I pulled the trigger on the Lepin R2-D2 from Gelida. Unfortunately my bank has now rejected to pay it twice on my debit card (I'm now in the US, which may be causing problems) after asking for a verification code, which I put in and having to do an online security thing saying I recognised the transaction.

Anyone got any thoughts? I still have it ordered, I just haven't been able to pay yet, I take it they wont send it until Aliexpress confirm I've paid as Aliexpress hold the money until I confirm I recived it and all OK.
I would contact the bank.

Tumbler looks good.
Is that a 22inch Eagle transporter kit box behind it?
I've got a 22 inch Eagle transporter kit in the loft that the kids got me for Xmas. I really do need to make a start on it sometime soon.

My Lepin Tie Interceptor arrived today. 11 days from order to arrival sent with free DHL shipping by Dream House.
Cant fault the service. Order was pending for a few days & tracking number seemed to indicate they were waiting for item to be dropped off but overall I am more than happy with the transaction.
Going to open all the bags a little later & going to check all the bits are present and correct.

A few mini figures arrived today too.
I will be checking the H&K branded Darth against the Lepin Darth with the helmet fitment issue from the A wing/tie fighter set.

.
It sure is. Bought it as a way of getting back into model making and airbrushing. Need to start it, Need to finish the Psycho Zaku first.

More or less same here. Not built a static model kit for a while but couldn't resist the eagle as its my favourite spaceship of all time.
Got a couple of them to tell the truth as wanted to build one as a rescue & the other I got for xmas from kids/my wife.
Hopefully I will get one built before they bring out the eagle freighter.

Done a few 1/14 Tamiya rc trucks where the body needed building & got airbrush here already but never attempted shading etc.
I'm on with a Voyager kit to try and get my hand in before I start on the eagle.

I might make more progress if lego didn't keep getting in the way. laugh

Superb job on the Psycho Zaku.

Have you tried putting the tracking number directly in dhl tracking page? It's more accurate

I got hit by import bks!

A bill from DHL for 27 quid (for two modular buildings I bought in one package). 16 quid was vat and 11 quid is their handling fee.
just got hit again on Town House. Cost of item is about 55 quid, and just got a customs + fees bill for £22. bds.

Both customs charges have been from Toys Factory orders but who knows if that's coincidence. Not had charges from Dream House or SuSenGo (thought they don't do lepin any more). fk. They charge VAT on the delivery cost as well by the way (in case anyone tries to work out why the VAT bill seems so high when they get hit)

yeah I just deleted that post cos I realised the reason mine is probably held up for so long is cos customs charge, see above. Go here https://epayments.dhl.co.uk and put in the waybill number (which you can find on the earlier tracking page) to see if you have a charge (yet)

This is my set number nine in the last two months, all well over customs limit and never been charged yet. Even the huge Ghostbusters set sneeked through. Fingers crossed this one does aswell, Mind you even if they slap a extra £40 on it is still better than paying the £409 for the Lego version.

Yile 008 - a knock-off of the discontinued 8214 Polizia Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4.

A lovely build - no malformed or missing pieces at all. It's not quite as big as the Ferrari F40 or Beetle but it's near enough that it won't look out of place displayed with them.

£28-ish delivered, and even by Sinopost it arrived in less than 2 weeks. Pretty good since I ordered during the 20% cashback offer in the tail end of the Chinese new year holiday

Yes, you have ordered the item. You have "reserved" that price. You have some time to pay for it. If you don't, the order will be automatically cancelled. (I am not sure about the lenght of time, but it can be even some days).

For instance, you can place an order via phone, which sometimes has better prices, and pay via the computer, if you feel safer that way. Once you pay, aliexpress will check the payment. Once aliexpress has the money checked, the seller starts the shipping process.

By the way, I was looking for lepin 16002, and I found Albrey Toy Co which has a very good price, far better than the rest. They have lepin 16002 (Metalbeard sea cow) for 61,07 €, and Lepin 05027 for 109,61 €. They have also other sets with good prices, like bettle, ewok village, motorized At-At and ghostbusters. Just info if you are interested

I have finished a parts check on my Lepin Tie Interceptor & there are 3 smaller single stud pieces missing with 3 of the 8x1 flat plates being the wrong colour.
I already have the single stud pieces & the correct colour flat plates in our/the kids spare parts box.
Overall I am very pleased with the quality as there appears to be no badly misshaped parts.

Bit strange a UCS model doesn't come with a minifigure, especially when the model has a quite detailed cockpit area for one to sit, but saying that the lego original, now long since retired, didn't either.

On a different note a LeLe minifigure case arrived toady. Didn't expect a delivery on Sunday. Overall its a nice sized case for minifigures/smaller lego models.
The sides/front/top all clip together & they could all do with a little tidying up as the factory leave the edges a little rough. It tidies up nicely & makes for easy access with all the sides still in place.

I am going to order a couple more of the cases as with being bigger than a standard minifigure case/box I can finally put some of my custom minifigures/figure models together on display.

Finally finished my DECOOL 911 in white
Recap: ordered from H&H Co Ltd (AliExpress) on 11th Dec, arrived 15th Dec via DHL. No customs charge.

Very impressed.
- No missing pieces, no damaged/broken pieces. Quite a lot of spares (small pieces and pins).
- No complaints about quality either (no clutch issues, no off colour pieces etc.)
- Manual is good quality. Think there were two errors (scale of two pieces was wrong), but easily spotted.
- Stickers are not copies of the Lego version, but doesn't bother me personally (and Lego version can be bought separately if preferred anyway)

I'd definitely buy DECOOL again in the future (they don't seem to have as large a range as Lepin though, which is a shame)

With DHL it is all about the value declared on the parcel by the seller.

If you do not want customs, taxes, brokerage fees, ask the seller if they will declare the value at whatever is needed.
