Do you know which store you bought it from? I may well need a good store if my current transaction goes wrong.

Still no tracking on my Porsche from susengo. I did send them a message questioning this and they replied with some rubbish about it taking a few days to show up (its been 10 days since order).
I guess I will wait up until the buyer protection thing is running down. If it hasn't arrived I will raise a dispute.
I used SuSenGo Toys after a recommendation on here, I was got ahead of myself and almost ordered the Porsche & Ucs falcon amongst other things, but I thought I'd just order the SSD first to test the water.

Two positive feedbacks for the porsche have been given to susengo today, to be taken with a pinch of salt obviously but worth waiting as they may have just posted late. Where are you checking for tracking? Via dhl.com?

For those having issue with aliexpress,if it turns south I can get you one it's purely the shipping that is going to be a bugger, about 50 quid at a guess by ems tracked and with you in five days.

I see Lepin do the Cinderella's Castle kit, which would make Mrs D-Angle very happy. Does anyone know if this is available now or just pre-order at the moment? Thinking of trying to get one before Christmas.

I haven't seen it available locally yet. There is a page on FB called customise minifigure intelligence they seem to list all of the new kits coming

Great stuff.

Some suggestion on one of the Lepin/knock-off related FB pages I follow last night that Lepin is going to release its copy of the iconic Taj Mahal set. That's right up there with the UCS Falcon for its collectability in original Lego form, and still (I think) the biggest piece count for any official set.

Nice one. Did you get any comms from Susengo? I've sent a couple of messages but no reply as yet frown

I got a fob off message from them that doesn't inspire confidence "Thanks for your message , we had contact the express to confim the parcel. they will fix out soon , we will keep following it up and update to you". Nothing since, of course, and the tracking number still doesn't work.

I am still assuming they haven't sent it yet but they will when they get stock, hopefully in roughly a week. That's assuming I haven't raised a dispute by then.

As someone who buys from China fairly regularly, I can tell you that's pretty standard as communication goes. I have never had anything not show up though, so don't worry.

This Lepin lark could get very expensive for me, just for the discontinued sets! Tumbler, MF & Death Star 2! If they do the other dis-continued UCS Star Wars stes I'm screwed! LOL

Has anyone had any issues with UK cutsoms when ordering this stuff, being hit with a big customs charge for example?

A couple of guys on another forum I frequent got a £3.30 invoice from DHL, but so far aliexpress traders seem to be marking down the value of the packages to minimise customs charges.

I do wonder whether I should be thinking about offloading the Tumbler I speculatively bought to sit on and see whether it would appreciate, given that more people may well follow your (and indeed my own!) example and just pick up "replica" discontinued sets rather than pay over the odds for originals....

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to pay for Lego sets when they're released (my wife's not so chuffed though! laugh ), but just for the discontinued sets, why would I pay £3k+ for a second hand UCS MF, when I can now get the same pleaseure/joy for a knock off at just over £100, same with DS2, Tumbler etc. I'm just thinking of discontinued sets personally......at the moment, though if Lego continue to price hike for identical kits with subtle changes (yes, I'm looking at you, new UCS Death Star), then I may be tempted away from Lego.

Guys, just so I have got this right,

-Aliexpress is just an Amazon style marketplace
-Buy from one of the traders there that prices fairly and hopefully has some reviews and ships via DHL
-If a trader says it's "in stock" there's no guarantee
-Even if I pay via a normal credit card I should be fairly safe

Is that it? I have a GT3 sized hole on my office bookshelf that needs filling...

Think that's the long & short of it mate.

The seller doesn't get paid until you mark it as received on the app and you're happy with the item.

I got the Porsche a couple of weeks ago - was about £4 in customs charges - just arrived in a big bag.

Pictures below

The only problem with the build was some parts of the crank shaft are rubbery when they should be plastic - makes no difference to how it works - and just like a real 911 the engine is so buried in the back you can't see it anyway.
