Sounds spot on.
Massively so. Worst criticisms would be that you might need to buy a few official parts if there are any missing or some that don't quite work properly, and it might be an idea to get the official instructions downloaded onto a tablet or something (in addition to the slightly flakey colours I believe the Lepin instructions are also downsized).

FWIW since book 2 of my fist modern build (the Unimog - God damn PH Christmas thread on it to hell!) I have been using the downloaded instructions on the tablet.

Much easier and you can zoom in easily when there is a bit of confusion.

It does start to get a worry though when you can spot a grey 5 axle in a pile of 20 grey 7's from accross the room...

Put the kettle on and read this. Unbelievable skills and makes putting together a plastic toy seem somewhat trivial.

As echoed by many on here I quite like the idea of getting to actually build some of the older discontinued sets. I had always wanted to build the UCS Falcon but the cost was always prohibitive (its bunch of plastic bricks at the end of the day) The prices now asked by speculators is off the scale and I can't believe that people out there actually pay the asking prices. I guess they do hence the crackers asking price.

I am almost tempted to take a punt on the Falcon just to experience the build.

Generally I love Lego and still buy the odd set, but the price is high in the overall scheme of things, so many other things really should take priority a Lego set is a man cave luxury!

Just looking through thread again.
Has anybody got/ built creator town hall yet? Or fire station?
Are they even released yet?

Fancy a few modulars while waiting for the falcon.

Well my build has been stalled now by missing parts. Ones I can't make up out of my collection. Does anyone know if you can purchase bricks from a Lego store or do they need to be ordered online?

You can either buy genuine new Lego from the lego store - https://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Pick-a-Brick or from bricklink - https://www.bricklink.com/

Lego store doesn't do older and some of the very specific stuff, bricklink does everything but price is dependent on supply and demand.

I'm in Watford tomorrow so will drop by the store. The parts I need are 4164133 levers. I don't really want to wait a week if I can avoid it, I need 10 of them.

I have simply been buying new/used Lego bricks from ebay, as another poster said the Lepin turntables on the falcon are not up to the job so I bought 3 of those (Lego 3680) I also bought 58 1x2 Lego clips (63838) to replace the lid hinges and hold the curved sides a bit better. This hinge mod means I can let the 5 and 3 year old play with it without the top covers coming off when touched.

The plan is to flat tile the inside floor as well, no idea why but I just fancy it so I am doing it.

This blog has reviewed both. He is not afraid to call out the problems with Lepin models.

Thanks Guys, Well for the price, and retired, i think i,ll take a gamble and get em both.
As its Lepin I sort of expect there to be missing parts (but you get a Shed load of guns with the town hall apparently ) laugh
Ive just built the SSD and no missing parts.

Just had the text from DHL - my 05007 Falcon had left Hong Kong and should be with me by Thursday!
I've had slower service from UK retailers

Finished! Well kind of...

Still awaiting some missing pieces so hopefully properly completed early next week. I seem to have loads of some parts over though. I might keep them for spares for the next build.

One thing I have noticed is that the Lepin instructions don't have a parts list at the back. For the next build I will download the Lego instructions and do a stock take before I begin.

It's definitely a fake Falcon. A week to get to you from Hong Kong? The real Falcon could do the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs getmecoat

Joking aside, if I've just paid my GT3 DHL import tax, how long should it take for delivery?

smilesmile Think this one must be a real Falcon, given the speed it's moving at. It left Hong Kong 17:18 yesterday, bounced off Leipzig and Birmingham, then left the Ipswich DHL depot (actually in Colchester) 45 minutes ago.

The Wall-E kit has also landed in the UK, so should be with me in the next day or two (he's travelling via Royal Mail).

Last time I had to pay import duties on something via DHL, it arrived within a day or two of payment clearing.
