As an AFOL I have most of the new USC starwars models but the prices are getting hard to swallow, also the big sets I have bought I now have buyers remorse so they sit in the loft probably to sell in the future.

The sets I do buy and build have been the smaller starwars sets and wall-e which was a nice build.

So ordered the Porsche from Susengo less than 2 weeks ago and now have a big box of orange blocks, good service and no issues for £68 .
Bonus was no import taxes as it was marked as samples for $19 dollars so no import fees so far.
Just ordered the UCS 00507 from Susengo for £143 delivered so fingers crossed no issues.
For first time in a while im looking forward to building something and not stashing it in the loft.
As a side note I have started to sell all my so called investment lego i.e. tumblers and petshops as I just don't see the point anymore.
I would rather buy cheap and build the models to enjoy and not stress about the values.

smilesmile Think this one must be a real Falcon, given the speed it's moving at. It left Hong Kong 17:18 yesterday, bounced off Leipzig and Birmingham, then left the Ipswich DHL depot (actually in Colchester) 45 minutes ago.

The Wall-E kit has also landed in the UK, so should be with me in the next day or two (he's travelling via Royal Mail).

Last time I had to pay import duties on something via DHL, it arrived within a day or two of payment clearing.
Well all I can say is that my GT3RS is properly fast. Apparently it left Hong Kong at 1730 today and should be with me tomorrow evening!

I doubt that TBH, and if so my life is over. Mrs and the little man have been away for a week, back tomorrow...obviously "quality time" is needed with them...but the bags of Lepin will be calling me!!!!

If your impatient now wait until you're waiting for missing parts to be delivered....

Mine took around 15 days to get here.

Might get my UCS Falcon pre-ordered now then as Lepin might end up being collectable!

Mind you, I think Lego have the square root of fk all chance of winning that one...

It's not as if copyright infringement claims have a decent history of success in China... They'd be mad not to simply injunct Lepin in Europe and the USA first.

Agreed about it being pointless - western IPR is routinely ignored by Chinese courts.

It would be equally pointless to issue proceedings here or in the US though - Lepin almost certainly has no assets in either jurisdiction so any order would be toothless.

Had a few parcels turn up today as well.

I ordered the ghostbusters figurines , not Lepin some oh her brand , items missing but decent quality .

2 x Lepin Vw campers

1 x scooby doo time machine , will go with my Lego ghostbusters ecto 1 and back to the future car.

I have found out a little bit of cheekiness from dream house and jack sun as they are the same seller. I know this as they both came bundled together in one box and shared the tracking info. Fast postage but haven't played fairly . Here's why.

When I ordered the first sample lot, I then re ordered a couple of days later the vow camper from jack sun. I noted that 4 days later they had still not shipped . Order told me would be automatically cancelled in 2 days as no update or communication from seller.

I cancelled order and looked for alternate sellers, next day I note that order was still pending, so I cancel and contact customer services . They tell me they will cancel and chase up.
Next day I order from another seller. Note that the update screen still says pending .

Next day an email saying all orders posted , I contact Ali express , they tell ,me the seller had refused my cancellation twice . They say they will side with me but I need to wait 10 days.

I now realise the seller is the same company and I have 2 models lol.

What would you advice I do , I can simply sell 1 camper , but seller has been cheeky.

Col.

Honestly I would probably cut my losses, I suspect trying to get a refund and/or having to return somethjng will be more hassle than its worth, chalk it up to experience and i'm sure you can sell the second camper easily, i'll happily take it for whatever it cost you, or you could try ebay, gumtree, classified etc.. ?

Hopefully I'll still be able to order a couple kits in 5 weeks when I get back to the UK!

I really want to order the super expensive Star Wars kits and blow them up or something!

If you injunct them here, surely you'd be able to word the order in such a way that stock could be seized on arrival in the U.K.?

When my gt3 arrived it was just a plain box with what would look to the layman like used Lego in it. Lego would have to pay for some training if they wanted a customs official to recognise it for what it was. Also knock offs of other brands (who all have similar injunctions no doubt)!have been coming in for years. I think you'd be unlucky to get caught and if the item didn't arrive you'd just get a refund as aliexpress holds onto the payment until you say everything's ok.

They're just need to look for the Lego logo on the bobble on any brick?

stuff like mega bloks is legal though, no law against producing blocks that fit lego, surely only the box art or instructions could be copyrighted? the design of the GT3 model, probably only Porsche could ever launch proceedings about that, for the Star Wars stuff, Disney (add it to the list of unofficial stuff they must deal with every day from China)

True. The other way might be to look at the instructions and if its Lepin brand then that's the give away. Wouldn't exactly be difficult for Lepin to remove all branding from the instructions though.

There must be specific bricks, such as the wheels of the GT3, which aren't generic and thus could be copyright.

While there's a difficulty in enforcement, though, if there was a 50% chance your Lepin order didn't ever reach you because Lego did manage to obtain some sort of injunction, surely you'd be less keen to buy it (what with the wait, hassle of missing pieces etc)? So it would achieve Lego's purpose commercially.

I've been following this with interest as i have to say that there are a few sets that i would like to buy if the price were right and they were available. I'm thinking about starting a modular collection and really don't go with the idea of paying £500+ for a retired kit. There is no way that i would start to think about it at £250+ per set either. It was hard enough for me to justify that on the GT3 - and that was something i had wanted from day one.

Looking at some of the prices of the Lepin modular sets vs the Lego ones it is very tempting to place an order - for the cost of one current Lego set i could have almost all of the Lepin ones in the series...

As it stands I will likely just sit on the sidelines watching it all play out for now but i have to say that i am starting to think that with the World of 2016 Lego might just be about to be brought kicking a screaming into the real World with it's pricing.

Never one to knock someone making a profit or exploiting an early advantage in a market, but Lego has had a very good run and has, IMO, in the last 5-10 years been a bit too greedy. Heck when there are Lego loyal PH'ers who are usually in the 'buy the brand camp' ordering Lepin you have to start to wonder. Especially when, for example, you can buy new (as in not ReRe's) Tamiya RC kits for about the same sticker price as the comparable model in the late '80, early '90's....
