Ordered Tantive IV a week ago, although the seller is only telling me now it's a pre-sale item and I need to extend the delivery time by 10 days.

Any reason I shouldn't? Since the kits have only just appeared on Ali Express I'm guessing it'll be the same with all sellers, although a few cheaper ones have since appeared so letting it self cancel is tempting...
Unfortunately the majority of sets are pre order when first announced. I no longer buy sets until they are confirmed as sin stock and ready for shipment as you will just end up waiting weeks with no sign of shipping.

That being said I have recently ordered the UCS Imperial Shuttle and the Tie Interceptor as I knew they were shipping now.

I am still waiting to push the button on R2D2, The Y Wing and the ISD, all of which are now shipping but I want to stagger the orders so they dont get sent together and attract more customs charges (UCS MF I got away with none and at all and SSD was only £3)

Nothing from DHL on the shuttle which should be arriving before the end of the day and the Tie Interceptor was only $40 (I always buy in USD with a good credit card meaning no charges and good currency rates).

Only issue I now have is that I read a post on a Facebook page today about the quality of LeLe sets now. Apparently they have upped their game quite a lot including adding not just the original dish to the UCS MF but also a TFA style dish too.

On the ISD they apparently have the correct wheel parts for the engines which Lepin send a totally different part which doesn't really work.

I am just waiting to get some feedback on the quality of LeLe sets as in truth I just want them to be as close as the original quality as possibly with the correct parts. I believe most of these bricks are all made in the same factories regardless so its just down to which company makes more of an effort putting the sets and brick counts together.

Happy to get the Y Wing and Probably R2 from Lepin as everyone seems to be happy with them but the ISD I think ill get from LeLe if the stories turn out to be true...the price seems to be similar as well

Has anyone ordered the LeLe Millennium Falcon yet, sounds like it might be better than the Lepin version, and it does have a proper size radar dish?
The early Lepin UCS MF DID have the correct size dish but that might have changed in the months since they started shipping.

Id also heard that the LeLe version was now better but haven't had clarification of this yet

Emerald Night train is only £34 delivered - but takes 20-40 days.

Is this OK, or risky? I guess its cheap as they are avoiding fast DHL charges.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/LEPIN-21005-1085Pc...

EDIT - £38 with DHL

Part 1 of the 911 finished tonight...

No missing parts yet and no real issues. For anyone thinking about the Decool kit it seems worth it for the money.

I came across a blog 'MonkeysCanGame' and the guy has a very good review of the Lepin UCS Millennium Falcon including picture comparisons of the Lego and the Lepin instruction manuals and he points out things to watch out for when building the kit!

It is a very good review and may help anyone who has or is going to get one:

http://monkeyscangame.blogspot.ca/2016/10/lepin-05...

For example, these are shown different (and not as strong if you follow Lepin's manual):

I have to admit I was surprised to find that Lepin's manuals are different from Lego's - everyone I had read claimed they were just scanned copies but this shows they are not.

That's why I was holding off, but this guy (who I ordered a Falcon from and was very quick on that occasion) had it up without saying 'presale' so I thought the sets were in. And funnily enough he's marked it as dispatched mere hours before it automatically cancelled. Expecting a nice fake tracking number soon!

I think the way to look at it is that if even one seller says it is a pre order, then it is just that

I used H&H after asking for a recommendation on here. I'm happy with it so far!

I ordered the 911 and a motorised AT-AT, they 911 had 7 day DHL shipping, the AT-AT had 30 days! The seller put both in the same box and didnt charge me extra for shipping which was good. They also asked me to clarify my address as my postal town and county are mistmatched.

Edit... this one Look what I found on AliExpress

Thanks!

Anyone got experience of the motors in the Lepin sets?

ETA - this is why I ask:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/NEW-LEPIN-23011-te...

Lepin have "copied" a MOC which costs a fortune to source the parts for.

I can't recommend one (being from Canada and it would cheaper and easier for you to use a GB based seller) but do not some of them show postage and minimum buy amounts?

That is the way it is with BrickOwl.com. When you do a parts search it will show the part and price just like Bricklink does but will show the sellers' postage and if they have a minimum order amount.

Just had an email from an AliExpress shop about the Chinese new year, and the shutdown.

It seems they will be closed completely for 2 weeks from 20th Jan. This might be something to consider for those looking to place orders...
