Oh god. Free video editing software rec please?

As the title says. I just want a piece of software that can edit.

I have a video clip. I want to cut some off the start, and some off the end. That's it! But it seems Windows movie maker is incapable of doing it in a user friendly way.

Suggestions please..?

Windows Movie Maker. Oh wait...

But seriously, WMM is very straight forward to use. In fact, I downloaded a video the other day, cut out two sections, stitched it back together and exported in about four minutes.

BlackMagicDesign do a free version of their davinci resolve video editor. It's marketed as an alternative to FinalCut and Premier so it will have no problem simply trimming a video, once you work out how to use it. Windows and macOS as well.
