More Louvres than a cheap tour of the Paris.

Managed another chunk of Greebles for the central funnel and started the next superstructure.

It's definitely boat shaped now.

Sneaky technique I've picked up, it's working for fencing, and in this case, the armour plating on some smaller guns - the cut out for the base/top makes a convenient form to hold the paper in shape whilst the glue is setting up.

Rear structure almost complete, 2 more guns to add.

Heavy Artillery.

Test fit. There's about 40 pieces in the turret, but it looks like it will bring the thunder already. I need to build four of these in total, then it's mainly masts and Greebles to go.

8 11" guns, mounted in 4 turrets.
Looking formidable now.

Now begins the process of greebling the deck. Myriad vents and boxes need to be built up - I've done about 10, and there are about 50 more to go.

Also to be created at this stage are 10 smaller lifeboats. Oh Joy.

Lots of small boxes put together.

Even more tiny cylinders put together.
Finishing touches flying together, lifeboats and masts are the only major parts left. Should hopefully be finished in the next week.

Almost done. Rigging, replacement gun barrels and a few bits of tidying up left to do.
The bottom of the hull is a little wavy in places so my aim there is to free that a little and re-stick it in such a way that it looks more smooth

Most of the rigging completed.. minor tidyups to the bottom of the hull and other bits to do, but that will be done at home.

I'll try and take some decent pics once it's polished.

That was a quick build! Looks an impressive model smile I've not got around to progressing my model yet what with one thing and another.

It looks very good to me. I'm amazed it only took 1 month to build - you must have been working on it pretty much full time!

Did you sort out the wavy hull sides?

There's been a lot of slack time at work.. I've probably managed to sneak a good few hours a day in if I'm honest. The other 3 on my team have joked that I need a time idea to bill to for it.

I've managed to get the sides a lot better, ran a scalpel along the join and reglued.

Shortarse Jr loves it, i hope you excuse the awful crop but this shows the scale quite well.

Very good. You ought to glue it to a plinth, or get a case for it.

Yeah, it's currently on the top of his wardrobe, but it's going on a shelf on the stairs once I get the shelf up.
He wants a set of wheels fitted to it so he can push it around on the floor, but that clearly ain't going to happen.
I might get look into a perspex case to cover it

Interesting design that 3 turrets can give a broadside at a time.

yeah, 3 twin 11", plus 5 6" for a broadside.
that's some firepower.
