The Fleetline is a 2024 Treasure Hunt, nice find. It should have a little grey logo on the card behind the car, you can see the same logo on gold on the Police badge on the car.

We found a Treasure Hunt in The Entertainer the other day too

Found this new-for-24 lurking in a local supermarket:

And in Smyths this Majorette Toyota pack caught my eye, a cool selection:

Nice, will have to watch out for that one. I suspect I have different versions of them individually, but nice to get a full 5-pack of something related and not 2-3 decent ones and some random things.

Nothing in local stores of much interest in
the individual packs at present but found that B&M had the “ten” packs on offer (2 for £20) and they had some nice selections.

I managed to nab a HW Roadkill Rotsun via mail order this week, also found a Matchbox Morris Minor at Morrisons. I quite like Matchbox cars as they are often a bit more realistic than HW cars.

Majorette are doing some good stuff at the moment, and more visible as Sainsburys have started selling them as well.

Here are some of my recent ones, and they do some cool French stuff for their home market.

Not sure about the UK but in Oz Matchbox are sold in a sealed cardboard box. It means you don’t know what you’re getting - at least with HW you can see it.

e.g.

In the UK it's the same sort of packaging as HW - I didn't realise they still sold MB in boxes.

Boxed examples do end up here, they end up in random places like Co-Op, PoundStretcher and independent toyshops.

It's a nice throwback to the old days. I have a few of them.....

Possibly the only MK1 Golf GTi I can currently afford. I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of the little 'tin' it comes with is though.

e.g.

So even though the box is branded Volvo and has a picture of a Volvo on it, it may not contain one, or have I misunderstood?

Well, it might not if the factory made a mistake!

The issue I have with it is you don’t know what the contents actually look like. At least with HW you can see it and think “oh, I like that” whereas MB runs a risk of “that looks a bit off”.

Plus, if you want to display it you need to open the box (they are glued shut) unlike HW.

Got it, so unless the seal accidentally breaks, so to speak, you’re buying blind, not great!

Good collection there - I see a few I have as well. The green AMX in the front row was the first one from my childhood that I made a point of tracking down and buying.
