you know what? I hadn't noticed that until your post...
I guess he is a kind of mister ben character. Im sure in the future he will be everything from a spitfire pilot to a roman general.....
God bless ebay..
Nice progress. Must admit, whenever I see a sequence of a figure being painted, I always get to a bit where I think it's finished, then there are another 10 steps to go!I guess he is a kind of mister ben character. I think i would fry my eyeballs if i worked to the scale you are painting with. Superb skills.
I once had to paint some very small detail on a Lotus 78 and had to tape a map reading lens to my glasses and close one eye.
Imagine what i would have looked like. Got the job done but couldnt see anything after for a few minutes.

I thought I’d resurrect this thread as I have got back into painting figures a bit.
M10 II tank destroyer crew.
I need to build the tank now,,,
They look great - the more I look at your figure painting the more it reinforces the notion it’s a different art form. Not heard of that vehicle before. 1:35 or 1:48?M10 II tank destroyer crew.

I’m surprised - it’s been pretty quiet for a long time on the Scale Models forum (in terms of plastic kits). I’d have thought lockdown would have prompted a surge in posts. Then again I’ve really been struggling with motivation myself for a few months.
Anyway, keep up the good work and post some build threads - they’re always much better than just pictures of a completed model I think.

Thanks very much.
I could actually do a build thread of this M10 as I haven’t started it yet.
I’m currently on holiday in a static caravan in Wales, so no building this week….
Just as I was getting back into it.
I’ve got two weeks while the rest of the family are away, so hoping to progress some stalled builds.I could actually do a build thread of this M10 as I haven’t started it yet.

Where in Wales are you?

We are in pendine. WiFi and phone signal is “patchy”.
Nice - we go to Stackpole (near Pembroke) every year. In case you don’t know the area there are a few small but interesting military museums fairly close: Chapel Bay Fort - about 45 mins away - Restored fort, run by an ex-soldier who lives there with his family. Encyclopaedic knowledge of all things military. Worth a tour if you’re into that king of thing. ETA - Seems to be closed due to COVID at present.
Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre - about 30 minutes. Quite a few models there, and contains some parts of a Sunderland flying boat they’re recovering from the river.
Carew Control Tower - about 30 minutes - loads of WW2 memorabilia and a restored tower you’ve got pretty much free access too. Also restoring an Avro Anson. Great bunch of enthusiasts. Only open Wednesdays and Thursdays I think.
If you’re interested - make sure you double-check opening times/restrictions. We were down there in June, and there were restrictions in place.
Cheers.
