Transfers.

First of Thanks to Ted for a model forum

A question for modellers or anyone in the know,how do i make up scale transfers,or is there anyone out there that specialises in them,these are the type of tranfer i mean ,like the ones on this truck door.

Cliff,

Try a local sign writer, one set up for doing signage on vans and things like that.

They mostly all use computers now to input the info and print it out. I'm sure they will have the facility to do even that small size?

You could type in a search for 'waterslide transfer printers/manufacturers'

IIRC you can make your own in PhotoShop or similar and print them out on special paper. If no-one here can help try the 'scratch_builder' Yahoo group.

Try the various modelling forums or some of the model and model accessory suppliers.

There are a number of companies who produce clear decal sheets onto which you can paint or draw your own designs. More recently, there are new types of decal sheets which can be used with colour laser or inkjety printers.

I run these sheets through my Epson R300 and then just Halfords laquer the sheets to seal them.

Nice one Popeye,great site you have got there by the way,how do false rivits work?,i have to modify and part a few truck cabs and was working out how to refix the riveted cabs

The false rivet is just a white metal 'mushroom' that looks like a rivet from the top. Just drill out the old rivet, drill down into the mounting post and then glue the flase rivet in once the baseplate is back on.

Simple and effective!
