Do you have any other kits available on the market Chris? That is a work of art.

I do the 'Victory Models' kits, and the Wells Fargo stagecoach, amongst other stuff...

ETA - I used Vallejo paints for this model for the first time - excellent paint!

Ever the modest one Chris. That model is absolutely wonderful, especially when one considers youve built it from first principles - not a kit of parts. OK so it doesn't go up and down by r/c but please, it's not the least bit boring smile

Finally finished HMS Bellona prototype model - 1:72 scale, which equals 1.1 metre long and almost a metre high - will be in the shops to buy in, oh, about 3-5 years' time....

Your models are wonderful you know, the kind of detail I have always aspired to but never been able to achieve.

Never will, now that my eyes and hands are going away downstream, too

I love your ship models so just for my own enjoyment I am about to open the link to enjoy seeing "where you are from"

As a railway enthusiast I would love to know more about that and yoru hobby, do you have a railway in the garden to run this on? This looks like a 'Footballer' class correct? What it be named as when finished? smile Cheers Rich...

Rich,
Correct it is a B17'Footballer' but one of the two that ran with the GE tender rather than the Group Standard type.
The boiler is all copper and will be hydraulicly tested to 200psi. If it passes that then its 30 mins under steam at 150psi, and if that is ok it gets a cert for two years allowing it to run at 100psi. ( the original boilers on the full size loco were pressed at 180psi.
Once finished it will run on the club track, and go out 'visiting'
Here are two further pics. One of the nameplate, worksplate, and tender plate for the model. Thse were made by Diane Carney. I turned up the ball. A pound coin is there for sizing. The other pic is of the full size plate on my wall.
Talking of Full size, also involved with the proposed build of a replica B17. We have both GE and GS tenders so will be able to run both 'Footballer' and the original Sandie type
Any other questions feel free to ask

I wish!!!!... but i do have an original Jubilee smoke box plate that was GIVEN to me by an old guy, he also had a couple of ex LNWR plates that we discussed but i felt a little bit dirty in dicussing money. Having said that a mate of mine had, i think 27(TWENTY SEVEN) plates in his house, Castle/Grange/WC/MN/BB a Metropolitan electric, IOW 02,a Brit, 4 i think, B17 but no footballers, B1 A4, 2 A3,2 A1, A2 Hunt, he also had the cowling of of an A4, Various whistles, a GWR chimney which he donated to Didcot for the Grange? rebuild, Signals, notices It was like a mini museum, one of the best kept secrets of Railwayana.
