That 79 has to be one of the best-looking F1 cars ever!

But did you know that for the model to be 100% accurate, the 'gold' parts should actually be in a sort of beige colour? The team stopped using real gold early on because it was costing too much.

Bet that wouldn't happen in today's 'b*gger the expense, give the cat another goldfish,' F1 environment!

Yes they are a creamy biege colour, the switch came late in the 72's life for not only cost reasons but also that the beige could always be seen and looked "gold" in pictures and on TV.

Just ordered my first GT Spirit model, a 964 RS 3.8 in 1:18 scale. €100 including delivery straight off their website. Read a couple of reviews saying they are AutoArt quality, but roughly one third cheaper. Any one already own something from this maker?

I modified an Otto model. Same company. It looked really well. Nothing could open but that's fine by me.

Just finished this one today:
The AutoArt base model:

The decals I made (printed by precisionlabels)

Another great model smile As an early 911 man myself it was easy to spot this one as one a Magnus Walker

Absolutely love what Magnus did to that car.

Now something completely different, an Austin Healey 'Goldie' (together with the base model from Kyosho)

I love the Rijkspolitie 911 - is that an "off the shelf" model or one you have custom made yourself ?

Off topic but I assume you have the book "Baas van de snelweg" ? smile

The #23 started of as a regular green Tagra by Minichamps (in the back)

I don't have 'Baas van de snelweg'. Usually I try to avoid cars in this colour scemes as much as possible. It always costs me a lot of money...
