I have a few Fujimi models and they are excellent value for money, especially when compared to Minichamps, Ixo and AutoArt.ferrisbueller said:
Just splashed out on a few of the latest HWE releases. They're not shy on their pricing lately but they're the only show in town at present. I read somewhere their license is coming to an end so maybe they're just milking it one last time.
Yep, licence bought by Maisto/Bburago.I mentioned in dr_gn's thread that I was having my first crack at modelling in well over ten years, largely due to following his project with interest. Apologies in advance as it's liable to be terrible by the standard of most stuff in the forum (as are the photos), but I thought I'd stick up my work-in-progress Hasegawa SEPECAT Jaguar.
Bonus points for spotting the mismatch between the tail (GR.1A) and nose (A)- my intent is to build a Jaguar IM, and as these were fitted with Agave radar from the Super Etendard the nosecone is closer to that of the French Jaguar A variants. I still haven't decided whether to risk trying to slightly bulk up the nose as it stands or pop it off and replace it with one of the aftermarket ones.
In typical something-I've-made style, nothing quite lined up...really need to sort out around the tailpipe but it looks much worse in the picture than in real life
Current planned loadout- drop tanks from a cheap Airfix Tornado which seem to be a fairly similar size to the tanks used by Jaguars (as far as I'm aware none of the easily obtainable Jaguar kits come with drop tanks) and a Sea Eagle from a mate's spares box, I think from a Hasegawa Sea Harrier.

I just pre-ordered the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhous S003 street car. BBR will make it, 1/100 to be made in total.
Stupid expensive (400+ Euro's), but I bought the P4/5 Competizione too (350-ish Euro's) back in 2011 and I have no regrets today, even though it emptied my pockets.
These cars are ultra rare in every respect. I am no diecast collector by any means but I really, really love Jim Glickehaus' projects and had to have this.

I hope both are able to respond with a step up in quality. Their previous efforts have been, erm, sub optimal. Maybe having such a cash cow will enable them to invest accordingly.
Just been looking at the 1/43 Burago cars starting to appear on the market. Sadly it looks like they're not really quality items. Fingers crossed for a premium range of some description. Thought I'd bite the bullet and post a pic or two...
First up is a 1/35 scratch built model of a Swedish Railways 891mm Gauge Z4p Loco. The model is constructed of mainly plasticard, brass and aluminium with only the motor, wheels gearbox and figure (since repainted!) the only commercial parts used.
Second up is a picture of my 4mm scale P4 layout Frampton..

Very nice. I haven't the patience to do finescale, 009 is time and patience-consuming enough!
I know what you mean as I don't also much in the way of time what with work and other things... I think the key point is to keep it in perspective and not to over whelm yourself with the amount of work. Frampton is quite a small layout (approx. 2ft x 6ft max) so it was easy to to pick things up, do a bit, put it down, do bit more....as and when you had time.ManOpener said:

Not much wrong with that so far as I can see - good effort on the conversion. Perdu (who also posts here) currently has a thread on BM, building modded Jaguars in 1:72:Bonus points for spotting the mismatch between the tail (GR.1A) and nose (A)- my intent is to build a Jaguar IM, and as these were fitted with Agave radar from the Super Etendard the nosecone is closer to that of the French Jaguar A variants. There are some good contributions form "Fritag", who built the amazing JP3 and JP5 models I mentioned:

I had a chat with him at the Huddersfield show (where he took 1st, 2nd & 3rd przes), he flew Jaguars in the RAF and has posted a few nice pics and some good detail info on Perdu's thread.
