How do you go about the scratch build side of things? Every time I try it just looks off for some reason.
Got back into the hobby after nearly 20 years away. Just finished this nice kit from Youngs Miniatures. Got a few more on an FB page too. Back onto some WW2 armour soon, I need a change!

When you say designed and built over the last two years I guess you have a used a computer aided design program
then cut all the parts you need as and when. If that is the case I think to complete that in just two years is just
amazing.
Being all fingers and thumbs that rigging fills me with dread just looking at it.
Great work and superb skills you have.
Thank you! Yes, I use a CAD program to design all the parts, both wood and photo etched brass. I do the designs first, then upload them to the server in Italy, they cut and etch all the parts and send them back, ready for me to build. Usually there are quite a few mistakes, which I iron out while building the prototype - or discover via extra research that certain parts look slightly different, so I re do them, send them back to Italy, and wait for the revised parts to arrive. I turned all of the master cannon barrels myself, so I know they will fit perfectly into the carriages. these are then sent away to Italy, and cast. The last job is the instructions, plans and manual. that took some time, almost as much time as building the prototype model (33 full size plans plus a 120 page A3 building manual)then cut all the parts you need as and when. If that is the case I think to complete that in just two years is just
amazing.

I did have to design and build this in-between Victory..
Enjoyed the research when doing that one..
That's fab!!
I was given the complete DeAgostini HMS Victory set of magazines with all the parts to make the 1 metre model up!
My mates son bought them but was taken ill soon after and wasn't able to complete the model, They were going to the dump if no one wanted them, He'd only assembled around four or five parts too
By the way, Do R/C choppers/Aeroplanes and cars etc count as models?
I bought this years ago, Was told it was one of the first ever cordless type mpodels to come in to the UK, Dunno if that's true but I had it working when I bought it!! Tracks are rubber, I took them when I put it away so they weren't stretched!!
Tamiya Mad Bull (I have two of these!)..
Tamiya Topforce
There's other R/C stuff in the loft too!

Both AutoArt - Jaguar XJ13 and Le Mans winning D Type.
AutoArt Bentley Speed 8, also a Le Mans winner. 2003.
Flanked by two 1:43 Minichamps, No's 7 + 8.
This XJR set is a make I've never heard of (HPI Racing) but I saw them at the NEC a year or two back and put a silly offer in and the seller said yes!
My Dad bought a Series 2 Daimler XJ a few years ago and the seller threw in the leaping cat, which Dad kindly gave to me.
And the wife bought me the Christopher Ward watch (D Type) a couple of years ago, too.
Reasonably small collection, but I only really like AutoArt stuff so it takes a while to find decent ones.
Could do with a more professional display case next and perhaps the Le Mans winning C Type.
I'd have an XK150, too, if AutoArt did one but I've never seen one.
