Cheers guys smile - but please remember, it is my job, I have been doing this stuff for 22 years now. (and still always learning new stuff) If I was crap, I wouldn't have the job hehe

I think that this is one of my favorites, HMS Bellona, a 74 gun ship of the line. It will probably never be released as a kit, as I designed it as a basis for new techniques, and was a pre-curser to the larger Victory model. this too has full lower decks detail:

Here is some of the photo etching for the pinnace - I love PE as I can get the scale absolutely spot on:

Just got back from visiting the family in Ireland, and decided to rummage in the attic and retrieve my childhood collection. smile I kept them in the boxes, which are pretty battered, but for the most part have kept them in good condition save for anything I managed to break on them as a kid. These are all over 20 years old:

I've been playing with the (very) elderly Airfix AOP6 lately

I always liked it and thought it deserved a bit more attention

It's Peter Brock 1991 Bathurst Holden Commodore VN fell in love with this car when i found a video of it years ago of him going at 11/10's round Bathurst in it.

Hi Perdu,

I read through your thread on Britmodeller about your Auster here and was going to leave a compliment, but somehow didn't then forgot all about it until now.

Congratulations on a nice build! biggrin

So I was out Sunday morning testing the water with some models I have, seeing if they would sell at a car boot. Back story - I was left quite a collection of Motorsport models by my late Uncle. Both of us avid F1/Motogp/WSBK/BSB etc fans but his real hobby was to collect the miniature models. He would have them displayed all over his flat, all rooms floor to ceiling of cars and bikes on display. Sadly I don't have the time, space or money to keep the collection going, and for the last 4 years they have been in my parents loft gathering dust. I did try the Poole toy fair a few years ago, having a prime spot by the main entrance for collectors to come and see our selection and purchase any treasures they might fancy. Sadly we only sold about 3 cars. Now this might sound like I'm in it only for the money, far from it. I want these cars to go to a good home, to someone who would enjoy them as much as my Uncle did. I feel sad they are lost in the loft at my folks house, not being enjoyed and loved as my Uncle once did. I don't have the time for eBay right now, and have a child on the way so my thinking is all money raised will go to the little one.

So the car boot went very well. I didn't take the full collection (about half taken to sell), and was slightly apprehensive as to who might buy them. The thought that little 'Billy' would want to buy a model and take it home, trash it and it ends up in the belly of a hoover was not my plan. But I said to myself, 'test the water, see what happens'. Well with having them priced up and thinking I'm not going to sell them for peanuts, I managed to sell about 30 models totaling over £370. One guy brought 23 models at £270, and he seemed very happy with the cars he took home.
Another collector mentioned I should really try eBay, so maybe if I get chance, I will have a go. Mrs Slickus is buzzing with what we made, and the fact we only sold about 5% if that of cars, she's seeing pound signs. I'm thinking baby fund could look very healthy if this carries on.
Just a couple of pics of what it all looked like on Sunday, and a pic of a couple of rare 'test livery' McLarens.....

That is incredible Chris.

Is there any chance you could start a thread and post up some pictures of any other ships you've done? I would absolutely love to see more! smile

For me, wooden ship models are just about as good as it gets in terms of scale modeling, and those look some of the most detailed I've ever seen! yikes

Propshop who built the model based it on my car. They took a 3d scan of my car to get the exact replicate for the model.

Currently going through my late granddad's model collection that I've inherited. Managed to ID most of them but any idea who would have made this James Bond DB5?

Looks like 1:24 scale but the box gives no clues as to the make. Think my he may have ordered if from a Mail on Sunday type catalogue. Seems good quality with lots of opening and removable bits but no idea of its value, if any
