Thanks, I've found the paperwork and it is a Danbury Mint one. I don't remember him ever having it on display so that may have been the first time it's even been out the box. They're going as a buy it now on ebay for over £250 which seems crazy money, but I'm not complaining

Another one arrived on Friday but due to being away only got to check it out tonight the 1/20 kids logic delorean.

Comes with a nice base as well

Oh and it floats

https://youtu.be/RY9GrJ1-4XM

The magnet is super powerful and took me a good 15/20 mins to get it to float, if you don't get the angle straight on and just pulls the car onto the base, the me fusion broke off when it caught my finger so will need to glue that back on

After discovering this thread at the weekend I thought I'd share my Transformer '04 WRC Scooby AKA Smokescreen. This is the Japanese only Binaltech line which were die-cast and painted and more of a collectors item than a toy whereas the rest of the world were the Alternators and are made of plastic.

This is actually the second time I've taken it out of its box and transformed it in over the 10years I've owned it!

NB. Petter Solberg ones were bloody hard to find. Only seen it once when I was Japan for a few months travelling and only made a late decision to buy one as a souvenir that could squeeze in my luggage.

One sign of a good model is how it fits into a real background..gj

I hope you gents maybe able to assist me.

I'd like a model of a McLaren F1 longtail, preferably in a decent scale so 1:18 I'm guessing.

But what make? I had a look at the minichamps models at the weekend and they were awful quality.

Minichamps/UT have been pretty good IMO.

There's a 1/18 HPI model now which is about £170 but I've not seen one yet.

Off to an exhibition with Frampton this weekend so a bit of prep is required to make sure the layout is working ok and touching up any small details before packing up for its travels.

Whilst the layout was set up I took the opportunity for a few pics and a small video of some of the testing...

Thanks for the kind words all, it's a scratch built model, about 3ft long. I have built a few more since but this is my favourite.

In the name of Crom, my Conan figure arrived! My wife has expressed her excitement and told me in no uncertain terms how grown up I am...

I will keep the cost a secret - to my wife, it was around £20... hehe

And I couldn't resist these:

They are so detailed for the size!

Big narrowboat fan here.

Have built 3 so far during my teens / twenties.

Have got the prototype plans to build a few more at some point when I get around to clearing the shed out and my head doesn't switch between boats / aircraft / trains / boats / aircraft / trains every few months smile

Very nice Ian do you get to sail them often? I find it very relaxing and can spend hours playing!

Seeing as there is a bit of barge appreciation, here's a couple more I built...

The top one is a static model but the bottom boat is radio control.

I haven't sailed them much to be honest, I built them when I was much younger and could only afford one set of r/c gear so they never saw the water together. As I mentioned in my post above, I've now got some full size plans of several boats so am hoping to get building again soon.

If I can get these up to the standard of yours I'll be very happy indeed. What are they built out of?

They are a mixture of balsa wood and Base wood, chosen because they are very easy to work with, all parts are just drawn out and cut with a craft knife. They are also very easy to bend and shape. You have to be careful not to chip the wood with fingernails etc but once it has a couple of coats of enamel paint it's quite durable.
