I was going to build my new ones out of varying thicknesses of ply but might revert to something easier if I find it too hard to bend!
Unfortunately I spend too much time playing with the real thing

Fantastic! I do like a nice workboat! Which boat is that? Wondering if I may have seen it? Unfortunately I spend too much time playing with the real thing

I passed a fully loaded work boat at full chat coming up the GU a couple of weeks ago and I can honestly say I've never seen a narrowboat draw so much water! I gave it a wide berth ?? It was a lovely sight.
Edit: just spotted it's Nutfield. I don't think I have seen that one. Is it put to work?

Owned by a charity www.friendsofraymond.org.uk The loaded boat you saw could have been Ryan on Southern Cross as he was about and very well loaded.I passed a fully loaded work boat at full chat coming up the GU a couple of weeks ago and I can honestly say I've never seen a narrowboat draw so much water! I was in Braunston just a few days ago so its a shame I hadn't spoke to you before! I would have popped over to see them. I'll keep em peeled and say hello if ever I pass you.
The blue/burgundy narrowboat model I posted is on Display at Wigwams Turn marina, I made it for a lady who works there, Not far from Braunston.
A few of my latest ones:
Autoart Millennium 1/18 Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R Group A
This is the 1990 Hasemi Motorsports car that raced against the legendary Calsonic R32 in the JTCC. It was raced by Masahiro Hasemi and Anders Olofsson. Mainly bought this one because I couldn't find a well priced Calsonic car at the time but I really like the livery on the Reebok car. The boot does open as well but unfortunately was quite loose out of the box. The detail certainly isn't the best for an Autoart car but it still looks really well done.
Autoart Initial D Legend 1 1/18 Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX
These were released to commemorate the new Initial D 'Legend' mini-series (which were basically a re-telling of some of the main races). The detail on this is noticeably higher than the Skyline- the boot is on fake struts, the headlamps have a toggle switch to pop them up or down and it comes with the cup in the cupholder and a tray of tofu you can open. Very detailed model but I should stress that it's really fragile too- the wing mirror broke off on mine from taking it out of the box! Thankfully a bit of glue has secured it again.
Autoart Performance 1/18 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
I'm not even a big fan of the Gallardo but I saw this in a sale for £45 and jumped on it Detail is decent but on the lower end of Autoart's offerings. Still, all of the carbon fibre pieces have a weave in them and the shut lines are very small for a model. Again, the front storage does open but there's nothing to hold it open in place. Oddly, this is the only Autoart model I have that came with a display stand. Certainly wouldn't have paid full price for it but at £45 it was a bargain.
The rest of the 1/18s...
From top left clockwise: Bburago Dodge Viper GTS, Bburago Bugatti EB110, Bburago Ferrari 550 Maranello, Bburago Maserati 3200GT, Maisto Dodge Viper GTS-R, Bburago Jaguar E-Type Coupe, the 3 Autoarts already mentioned and a Maisto Jaguar XJ220. Most are toys from when I was a kid that I just refused to part with
I've also started building model kits again. For about 18 years I collected Warhammer but after I stopped I wanted to use those skills building something else.
So far I have a 1/24 Tamiya Castrol TOM's Supra GT
Very much an experiment and to see how well I could build one before wasting more money!
Next was a 1/24 Tamiya WRC Impreza
This turned out much better. Slightly uneven paint in a couple of places (first time using an airbrush!) but happy overall. I've now sorted out the antennae too so they're straight.
I have another 3 kits in various stages of completion (Tamiya Clarion R33 Nismo GT-R, Tamiya Castrol Mugen NSX and an Aoshima Super Silhouette R30 Skyline). Going to need a display case for them all soon...

I've just returned from a fortnight in Japan, so naturally that meant I came back with some diecasts
Ebbro 1:43 Honda Epson NSX (Super GT '05)
Bought this from a shop called Liberty in Akihabara that specialises in preowned items. The only issue was a small scuff on the outer box yet because of that it only cost about £15!
Ebbro 1:43 Nissan Unisia Jecs R33 Skyline GT-R High downforce version (JGTC '98)
This was from TamTam Hobby Store in Akihabara; I would really recommend visiting it if you're in Tokyo and interested in diecasts. Wall to wall of Autoart, Minichamps, Ebbro, Kyosho and so on. It isn't cheap but the selection was probably the best I found in Tokyo. Love the Unisia Jecs livery since Gran Turismo 2!
Ebbro 1:43 Nissan Motul Autech GT-R (Super GT '15 Fuji Round 2 Winner)
Picked this up direct from the Nissan headquarters in Yokohama. Cost around £65 but doesn't seem to be available in many places at all (there are other Motul Autech GT-R diecasts around, but this particular one is a dealer special I believe).
Tomy Choro-Q Nissan Motul Autech GT-R
Got this at Nismo Omori Factory. For anyone that goes, make sure you get diecasts at the Nissan HQ- Nismo don't stock any aside from this!

A couple of mine.
A DTM Mercedes picked up from a dealership many many years ago.
And this. A plain white Onyx model from a few years ago. The box is completely devoid of any reference as to what the model is.
It is, I think, a Champ car or Indy car however I have no idea which one. I did have it looked at by a dealer a couple of years ago who seemed to think it bore a passing likeness to the unrated Ferrari Indy.
He said he had not seen another like it & proceeded to offer me £250.00 for the model.
I declined.
Should also point out that I emailed a photo of the model to Onyx & they said they had no idea what it was or where it had come from & questioned whether it was one of theirs!!!
So can anyone shed any light on what it might actually be?
I also have another 1500 or so die cast models in the loft, spare bedroom & garage.

Onyx did a whole gridful of indycars after interest in the series increased over here following Mansell's involvement in it. They certainly did all the '93 cars, possibly later ones also; I'm not sure because although I bought a load of them, I later lost interest and sold them to concentrate on just F1s.
