And if you flick through the dedicated scale aircraft modelling magazines in WHSmith you're almost guaranteed to find a build review in at least one of them!

My advice would be to simply plan ahead and take your time. Failing that, build a couple of cheap Revell 1:72 models to get back into it, maybe a Mustang or something like that.
