One of the blue roof lights on my Son's Police Range Rover isn't working. Now he loves it despite this as a 5.5 year old would but I'd like to repair it / have it repaired. As much as I just want to take the body off and have a tinker I'm worried about causing more damage through 'having a go'. Any advice on how to approach it (if anyone has done before) or whether a model shop in Nottingham offers a repair service of any sort?

Thanks in advance.

Scalextric cars are pretty straight forward, the body shell will come off easily. Just be careful with the small light wires, when you take the shell off.

With the top off you'll be able to see whether the small wire has broken or whether it's actual the light. I'll see if we have any spare bits at work tomorrow, I think we may have a few of those cars lying around.

Nothing I'm afraid mate, i think your only option is to call scalextric direct and ask for the part, w945 or something, it'll be on that PDF. Or it may be worth trying to pick up a 2nd car off eBay for spares.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

Russell, belated thanks for your help and advice. I sent it back to Hornby who repaired and returned quickly back to me so all good.
