I've started to collect a few models of planes I have flown or flown in and one thing is leading to another (a collection much to my wife's annoyance/amusement). For those of you collecting diecast planes - is one make better quality than the other, or are they comparable?

I noticed that! I'd like to but my attempts with a 1:48 Piper PA28 and 1:72 Jet Provost fell short of what I wanted, hence the diecast route.

It's never too late to start. Buy yourself a couple of cheap Airfix kits and a few paints and see how you get on. It's never been a better time to start modelling - with so much help and assistance available for free on the internet.

Corgi are fine . Witty Wings and HobbyMaster are miles ahead though IMHO.

I have had both in the past , Witty are miles ahead. ( Shameless plug ) I have two Sky Guardians models for sale on ebay at the moment , and F-15 USAF and F/A-18 US Navy.
