I got a Tamiya Hornet! I've ordered a ballrace set and some radio equipment. Hopefully they will arrive soon so that I can start the build.

Wingnut Wings SE.5a for me! Utterly, utterly, brilliant kit at an unbelievably low price. Makes you pround to be Briti...oh hang on they're from New Zealand.

Ran the old Nanda Swift Nitro car around the car park and 'garden' at work on the 24th. Smashed a wheel and a front suspension mount, but soon had it repaired. Excellent fun in the snow and ice.

Tamiya M05 Abarth 1000 TCR.

Chassis built, all radio installed, up and running.
Body painted, just need to paint the engine to go in the boot and apply all the stickers.

biggrin

Oh, and a Syma S006G helicopter too.

Yeah our kittens were freaked out by it, all brave and agressive until it gets too clsoe them and they run like hell to hide. Dog doesn't really like it much either.

Excellent! Thanks for all your replies. Forgot to mention that my Mother in Law got me 2 mini RC Helicopters. They are only the cheap chinese ones but they fly really well.

Following on from this thread way back in September..

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I put on my Facebook that I wanted a Tamiya Evo X on a Df-03re chassis..... Well it appears that my better half takes note...because Father Christmas delivered it !!!

Built the base nw and it's up and running, just doing the shell now. Only ever built buggies before and so cutting out a car is a bit of a challenge...

Pics later....

My little Apache. It's great actually, very easy to fly but the battery doesn't last long...

Tamiya 1/48 Swordfish
Nice airbrush

Didnt get the Vallejo paints that I asked for so I ordered a stack 2 days ago.

Dr Gn, I'm very envious of the Wingnut SE5a, I will get one of their kits even though I planned to keep to 1/48 scale

You won't be disappointed I guarantee that much! (especially if you are lucky enough to avoid paying import duty!). Actually you should beware of this, many people get stung for about an additional £25 by customs.

I also read somewhere that W.W. free postage offer would not last forever...

Looking forward to seeing the Swordfish, which is no doubt another superb kit?

finished stickering up the Abarth last night. Jeebus, it's fiddly.

front wheels were rubbing slightly so need to raise the front a tad and touch up the paint.
other than that, pretty impressed for my first build - oh, and the engine's a nice touch. biggrin

Apologies for the phone-pics. will try and get some better ones later on.

I bought my son a Traxxas 'Slash' which has been a lot of fun.... Not sure how they compare to Tamiya, seems fast and bullet proof so far.
