Pistonheads build off???
Discussion
It's difficult to be as inclusive as possible - which it seems would allow anything - but may put off inexperienced modellers who may not think of themselves good enough to join in.
By laying a few rules to simplify the build and keep it low cost then we reduce barriers to entry and to a certain extent level the playing field, so it's a format I'm in favour of - certainly for the first one.
Eric mentioned decals. Personally I would be in favour of allowing after market items when it come to decals as we get the opportunity to see the same model finished in a number of different ways.
