I haven't quite finished the last GB yet, well I thought I had but then I lost part of one of the black stripes that goes along the wing root- I seem to be doing something wrong as a lot of them keep falling off.
Have you made a shiny surface for the decs to stick to?A dab of glossyness where they are to go and then a coat of matt-ness to hide the shines is what you may need
The very old decals on this kit were printed some time in the nineteen sixties but have managed to stick to the surface due to the shine on the model (in this case I used for the first time some Johnson's Klear, no longer very available) which lets the decal stick because it doesn't allow air to be trapped under the decal so they just "stick". There is no extra adhesive used on mine to allow a "cheat mode" but you can if you add a little PVA adhesive to the water you soak them in, literally glueing them down on the matt, very dry surface.
The point of a group build like this is that you can pick up this sort of thing for future use
If you still have the "lifted" decals try adding a little watered down PVA under them as you refit them. It may save the decals (we used to call 'em transfers but that seems to be infra-dig nowadays) by removing pesky air bubbles
HTH
If the decals are history just use matt black paint on the area they ought to have been, you will probably get a better looking rubber tread pad if you do, dec's rarely look right to me in this application.

Same here, nearly finished.
Just need to touch up the red on the spinner and apply a flat coat.
Actually really pleased with how it turned out, the first time I have built anything not made by Airfix, Revell or Tamiya (I did the Academy one).
Pics in a couple of days hopefully.

Sort of closing the circle
The GB has been an eyeopener for me and I've enjoyed seeing the models appear. Another GB could just get me joining in
Whilst hoping to make a come back to modelling using this group build as a platform I came to the conclusion that I'm still too far from recovery so it's not to be for a little while.
However I did enjoy helping to organise the last one and have really enjoyed seeing the results and on that basis would not mind repeating the experience.
In the mean time I'll ask the mods to un-sticky these threads and sticky a new one for the next group build discussion, however, if people feel it should be organised by a participant then please let it be known on the new GB discussion build and we can take it from there.
