I think this is my favourite build of the GB.

No disrespect intended to the others participating, many of whom are producing models to a much higher standard than I could, but I really like this one because it's a different model from the others, and in a different colour scheme, and very well made (to my eyes anyway).

The rest of us are skinflints. The Special Hobby Tempest costs roughly three times the Airfix or Academy examples.

Has anyone sen the Matchbox example around recently?

It's real shame that Revell (who own many old Matchbox moulds) didn't release the ex-Matchbox Tempest rather than their own older and dodgier example.

Plus you get both engine options in one kit with the Matchbox version.

I have a made up example on my shelf - from about 20 yaers ago. I completed it as Pierre Clostermann's MkV.

I might dust it off (literally) and post a picture as a comparison with my more recent Tempest - when it's finished.

Being outbid so not pursuing.

I'll keep an eye out for an example at a model show.
