REally ancient photos of a Jaguar XJ-220
Discussion
I'm just about to list a Provence Moulage Jaguar XJ-220 kit on eBay, and as usual dug it out and photographed all the parts as you do. Then I remembered that I actually built one when it first came out. This was many years ago, but when I checked, it turned out that I had photographed it so I dived into my photo file and there they were. Apologies for the quality, as they're scans of 20-year-old prints; it took me long enough to find those, goodness knows where the negs are now!
Between prototype and production it went from a 4-wheel drive with 6.2-litre V12 and Lamborghini-style doors, to a 3.5-litre V6 with rear wheel drive, conventional doors and some really downmarket components such as Citroen door mirrors. And in the meantime, the much nicer XJR-15 had come out. No wonder customers sued Jaguar to get their £50,000 deposits back!
