We’ve all owned cars with Lucas electrics, that’s not what I want. I’m after an idea to make smoke in a 1:32 model car.

The good news is there’s 12V supply, and I only want smoke for a couple of seconds at a time. Surely a Seuthe smoke generator from a model loco is ideal? The bad news is that it’s a car, and when it tips over I’d rather not have oil peeing all over the place.

The other issue with a Seuthe is that I want the smoke to come out from below the car and even the most compact one (No 27) is quite tall and can’t be laid on its side. I tried one from a model tank which had a motor driven pump but it’s very large, heavy and seemed to break itself quickly. Is there a good idea I’m missing?

The requirements are: 12V or less DC supply, can take a knock or be tipped over, is reasonably compact (20mm x 10mm x 10mm would be great), and can output the smoke low down. I’m a bit new to the scale models game so I’m hoping someone out there has already had this problem and come up with a solution.

Thanks in advance, chaps!

Scaletrix smoke generator do the trick? or was that just based on the poor rollers making heat?
