Looks like he superdetails standard Tamiya 1:12 cars rather than builds them from scratch. I can't see any that aren't from that range. It would explain why most of the body panels are way too thick to be correct for that scale.

Getting material scale thickness may mean the material isn't actually strong enough to take forming or support its own weight.

'Tinplate' or brass plate would work.
