Who collects the 1:72 scale cararama/hongwell/schuco models?

I've decided my main collection of models will be in this size due to the fact they are smaller/cheaper and also still really well made products. I can fit alot more of these into a cabinet!

Who collects these or has a load of these from their childhood that they are willing to get shot of and put to a good home? All conditions accepted, some can go towards my father-in-laws 00 guage railway scenes.

I used to buy these in poundland and a little model shop near me, poundland doesn't sell them anymore and the guy who ran the model shop popped his cloggs.

I used to sell them on Ebay. Got the new releases shipped from HK. I remember selling the Ford KA and Fiat Punto for £55 and £35 respectivley.

Home Bargains was another store that sold them briefly for 79p each.

They are lovely models for the size and price , some are terrible but most are very good.

Have you looked at Real-X 1:72's? They do some good stuff too.

I've got a few Oxford Diecast models, they do a nice Xr3i and Capri. There 1/76 (oo model rail size) so they may be a bit smaller than the ones you already have. I also have a load of Siku and Wiking model farm machinary to.

Funny you should say that. I bought 1:76 scale Gold Capri, Red XR3i and a Lotus Cortina. They are great little models for £3.50 each! Not gonna fit in with the rest of the collection but I couldn't let them slip to be honest with you. Might collect more of those vintage cars (Anglias, Minis, Morris, VW's etc..) on a different collection. Maybe build a small 00guage Classic Car Dealers or something. Keep me occupied in the garage for a while..
