Hi all
Im considering buying a 407 hdi and was wondering what are they like to drive ect? Is there any potential or known problems that are common with them?(iv heard a few horror stories of the hdi 307's.Any help greatly appreciated .

Make sure everything electrical works properly and that the a/c blows cold. I've had one since January (1.6 HDi SE) and it's a comfortable and economical place to be. Can be a bit boring with only 110 bhp but if you get an alright one then you should be ok.
Because of the FAP filter it's a lot better to get one that's been used on the motorway and if you only do around town driving definitely don't buy one as the FAP will be blocked for 90% of the time!

if you buy one, I have loads of parts as i break peugeots 307's and 407's.
check anti pollution fault light, costly if it's on. with the hdi's make sure the fluid has been replaced for the dpf.
and rust! broken a few with rusty panels even on an 08 plate!

cheers all decided to steer clear and bought myself a corolla d4d instead thanks for all your info though
