I am currently working my way through a list of jobs that need to be done on my renaultsport clio 182. It needs:

-New brake discs
-A new exhaust system
-Cambelt and Auxilory belt change

I would have got to the above sooner but the gearbox needed a rebuild.

This car is costing me more money than i thought it would....

Anyone got any experience with doing the above jobs?

Front discs are easy, rears make sure you get ones with the bearing as part of it.

Exhaust is pretty straight forward but you'll need axle stands at the back and will need to remove the bottom bolt from the dampers to bring the beam right down as the standard exhaust is in one piece which is a git to get out. Refitting an aftermarket is a lot easier though.

Cam belt and Aux belt i would leave to a pro with the correct locking tools and get the dephaser done at the same time if you can.

Make sure you refit the spacer on the rear discs. It goes on the stub axel before the disc/bearing.

I did 35k to 75k in my Clio, I didn't touch an engine mount, and AFAIK neither did the previous owners. Must've been lucky - or never noticed an engine knock since there was always a strut top or a CV joint or a brake pad giving it laldy!
