I'm stumpted here, so thought I would consult the PH collective. The misses has just bought a 2006 Clio with a Keycard rather than a proper key. I quite like it, just get in the car with the card in your pocket and press the start button.. However when you Start/Stop the engine the Radio does not Automatically turn on/off as I would expect.

Is this a setting somewhere that needs to be changed.

Over to the experts

Thanks

How long have you left it? Does the car have a "power" switch on the dash?

I would assume there's a set period of time before it turns off 5min? 30min? - and if you want it off sooner, there would be a power button somewhere on the radio unit?

I guessing it's not the original radio? The car will turn it off after set period if wired correctly. It will also turn it on again as soon as you unlock the car.

I have a Laguna with the keycard - the radio turns itself off once you open the door on mine.......

Try seeing if it turns off after you lock the doors.

It may turn off when you open the drivers door?

It's the original Radio. We have tried opening the door and lockign the car, radio stays on( not tested how long for though) .

I will try the other suggestion of pressing the start stop button witrhout the pedals and see if that works. All seems odd to me.

surely this should happen automaticly, seems there has to be a odd way to program it to turn off , just need to find out what it is

Check the cigarette lighter fuse.
