If my Gti6 doesn't get it's idling problem sorted I'm going to go for a 182. Been eyeing up a Trophy.

I have to admit, it's hard to find anything else as quick or fun for the money!

Completely agree , nothing more fun for the money. Engines feel unburstable. Just don't waste money on uprated suspension and wheels, the standard set up is perfect for road driving. Still miss my 182 :0(. Got a shed phase 1 172 on the fleet at the moment that the previous owner lowered and its completely ruined the handling,

I'm after a cheap run about that is mildly fun, I just worry in my late 20's I should be a bit more grown up than knocking about in a tiny hatch with two exhausts biggrin - that said, I can probably get over that quite quickly.

Seen a few on ebay at the £4k mark. One seems to have had its belts/dephaser done and also the Sachs serviced.

Hmmmmmm.

2 of the main things to look for.

I see you're not far from me (Yorkshire forum Cookridge thread), and there's a really good independent at Halifax that I use if you take the plunge

I'm 32 and I've just bought a Clio 182, it's all about having fun!

Life is too short to drive your average TDI everyday.

This one seems right at the top of its price range to me but still looks in decent nick:

It's coming... Barely find enough time to work on it let alone take pics though.

Mines the common colour... Love it to bits, considering another as a runaround as the blue one too hardcore for everyday use
