Hello,

Appreciate any help with this. My friend here has a 2CV which has failed it's MOT in spectacular fashion. Engine very good but needs welding plus quite a bit of other things. It needs a LOT of work. He just wants rid. He'd be looking at least a grand to get it through. E reg Dolly. 49k on clock but must be round the clock by now. It's very tatty indeed. What is the best thing to do in terms of moving it on - and to whom? I know the market for these is daft now and reckon it's got some value. Has to be done quick - no time to break it. Any advice on how to progress welcome. I live in classic Mercedes world. Don't really know old Citroen vibes at all.

Many thanks for your time.

2CV World isn't as daft as you think.

I struggled to sell my restored 2CV for £3k 2 weeks ago.

Best bet is eBay to move it quickly, 99p start, see where it goes.

2cvs are funny.

Some people will spend quite a lot for a rot-bag. Id have it if I had space. If its too far gone then there are loads of people out there who are looking for donors for kit cars.

Depending how quickly he wants rid, a good bet is to put up an ad in the "for sale" section of citroen specials club forum, or the pembleton forum. The guys on here are always looking for 2cvs as they plan their builds.

Or ebay.

Good luck

I was just going to say the same - I've just built a Pembleton - there is a market for a good 2cv donor.

Will copy this link into the club site

Cheers all. Apologies for the radio silence. Swamped by an unexpected load of work. Been flat out! I will find out what I can about what he wants for the car. He's a good chap and fair.

I might be interested in it to repair the race car my friend wrote off at Oulton in march.
