2 to 2.1 bar all round which works out about 30-31psi I think. Don't notice much of a difference providing it's around that.

What's it say on your door sticker? I thought it was 30 back and 30-32 front depending on use?

Sticker says 35 front 30 back.

Still think 35 front seems a bit high. Will try it at suggested pressures tomorrow and then maybe drop the fronts a few PSI if it still lacks a bit of bite.

A lot of R&D goes into selecting those tyre pressures...

I run 34-35psi atm but still playing with the pressures. Handles pretty well on that even in the cold. Thats with 18s not 19s.

When I got it the car was set to about 40psi from the previous owner but id only had it 3 days before replacing all the tyres.

True but the recommended PSI is as much to do with getting better MPG as it is from a handling point of view I suspect.

Good news is that 35 front and 30 rear seems to work well.

Anyway my MPG is sitting at 23 after the first 700 miles which is about the same as the 5.0 Supercharged XKR it was bought to replace!!!!!! I have been driving it enthusiastically to be fair but that is exactly what I got it for.

from what I can see online there are two Cup S meganes for sale still with delivery miles, fitted with Recaro, Ohlins and akra exhaust..

I read in the thread people were getting this spec for £23??

What value do you think is worth a punt on the remaining two..

That seems like quite a lot. How does that compare to any similar cars on the 2nd hand market? If there are any that is!

Its a lot really. Id sooner, and did, pick one with a few 1000 miles on it for less. I was looking yesterday at 275 prices actually and you'd get a nice 275 for 20k.....

£29k? Jeez. Great spec, but £10k more than the standard cars were selling for!

There was a white one in Aberdeen with all the rights options ticked (around £10k of options) with a screen price of £26,910.

I would have a hard time stomaching £5k for Ohlins/Ackro/Recaro's.

I opted for a Cup-S without any of them with the view that I could/would add either or all of them at a later date. All 3 can be retro fitted for significantly less than 5k.

The cheap ones have all gone so they can now try and charge close to list as those who missed the deals will most probably not be aware they existed in the first place.

£1800+ for Ohlins, if you can get them, £1700+ for the Akro. You can get a pair of OE Recaros for substantially less than £1500? Or do you have cheaper sources? I'm all ears if so wavey

Ultimately I believe it's the last brand new one available with all options.
Mega spec for sure, but I'm in no rush currently as I really enjoy my Clio 200, but was hoping a deal was In reach to sway my decision back into a megane.

Well the deal is done.

Immaculate 59 plate RWD 510 bhp XKR traded in against a brand new FWD 275 bhp Megane Cup-S with some nice extras. And you know what - I'm buzzing.

The Jag is amazing and utterly beautiful but it is generally not that entertaining to drive except on those v rare occasions when you can use at least a decent portion of the power. The Megane on the other hand is a hard core hoot at all speeds and has the added advantage of having rear wheels that by and large want to stay behind the front ones. Oh and it has a manual box which I have missed soooo much.

Picking it up on Thursday. smile

Same same..Two years ago I sold a 63 plate XKR and bought a fully loaded Trophy in yellow. Very happy.

Did anyone actually figure out if it was possible to source some Ohlins? Id honestly buy some if they were easily available.

Going to get my mid section chopped soon.

Also I have a knocking coming from somewhere, sounds like the suspension strut is buggered (making a sound like there is no fluid in the strut from time to time) but I dont feel like the car handles like st...

I'm not being facetious but have you tried Renault themselves?

There was a place in Poland offering them for around £1900 delivered with springs but I cant find them on Ebay now. I had a set on order with a 2 week lead time but 4 weeks later and they still hadn't received them so I cancelled. They refunded the money immediately. Renault were something like £1100 per front shock.

The suppliers website is:

http://partsrs.com/

Doesnt seem to be working properly now though.

Try Four Ashes Renault Specialists for Ohlins, they have fitted a few sets according to their Facebook page. I'm not sure if they are doing the supplying or if the customers are sourcing them first but could be worth a call.
