You have probably missed out on any super savings (if they actually did them which seems unlikely), if you look in the autotrader there are a couple for 20k with delivery miles on, worth a punt I feel smile

Hi

I am ideally after one in LY with Recaros. Ohlins would be nice but I understand that I am a bit late to the party so may have to compromise somewhere.

Thanks
One on Auto trader in LY at 20k

There's nothing left in free stock, just what dealers have. The White car I have is the last one we will see.

A couple of PH'ers have ordered cars that are due imminently and got very good deals (IMO)

I think the bargain car is actuaĺly the 1.5 dci with satnav, seems you can get those for not much more than 11.5k (pre registered) which is great if you do a bit of long distance commuting smile

Still, 20k for an RS is also excellent vfm for one of the best performance cars in its class smile

Does anyone know of any dealers with these in stock or coming other than the three on Autotrader?

City Motors in Bristol had a silver one. No Ohlins, Akra or Recaros, but looked good with the 19's.

Tried to buy a Cup-S from City Motors in Bristol. They wouldn't see me for some reason... Possibly because they aren't a RenaultSport dealer.

Bought one from Bristol Street Motors in Nottingham instead

I went in to order a Cup-s back in September. Told me to go to Cardiff, nearest RS dealer. Bought one from London instead.

Credit where it's due, with the few niggles I've had with the car, they've been pretty good.

They have 1 stock Cup-S in.

Ohlins can be retrofitted for about £1500.
Any more info on where to get them from at that price?

Ebay. I don't know anything about then, but apparently they're knew, and come from Poland.

We've just bought the white one one from Butter Face at the equivalent of £17635. smile No frills but we only want it as a toy so suits our needs. Or will do once we've got Ohlins and seats sorted. The link above offers Ohlins at less than the option cost when buying from Renault plus you get the original suspension on top. Makes for a bargain if its legit, which it appears to be. Ive contacted the seller and will report back when I know more.

Edit: Looks like the springs are £600 yikes Not such a bargain. Truely ridiculous price in comparison to the shocks at £1300. I can have springs made as one offs at £40 each, Renault will be paying sub £10 all in. That's an obscene profit margin, even for the car industry!

£600, is that the cost for the composite or steel springs?

Steel, composite fronts are £249 each (£149 for steel), waiting on price for rears.

The steel set is £500, not £600. My mistake.

If I was you, I'd investigate using an Ohlins adjustable top mount and 2.5inch off the shelf spring with helper. This way you get camber adjustment and easy to change spring rates..... Might work out at a similar cost.

Keep us in the loop on your findings as the standard meg has no camber adjustment and this solution could be the perfect fix.

Adjustable top mounts are a far better engineering solution than a cam'd lower control arm bush.

I might have access to a much more cost efficient solution than using Ohlins top mounts, if they exist, which I imagine they don't. We have used BC Racing top mounts on Ohlins Mitsubishi Evo 7,8,9 kits to convert them to fit the earlier 4,5,6 cars. We can also potentially then use BC Racing springs at a fraction of the cost of the Renault items. I'm sure I can sort a solution, it's a good idea, thanks.
