Clio 200's are hard work at the best of times, when we have had them for sale they just hang around for ages; we try and avoid them TBH or pay peanuts for them so there is enough margin in there when the inevitable happens and we have to drop the price considerably to get shot of it.

That one doesn't have the desirable Cup pack; I wouldn't worry about the lack of Recaro's though, they aren't the be all and end all, it is the lack of Cup pack that is the main detractor for it, we won't even entertain one without it.

As a 200 owner myself I will put some input;

- Take that K-tec racing badge of the back
- Price is steep, yes it's a low mileage 2012 plate but people will just click straight off with the standard wheels and no cup pack, unfortunatley.

It's a tough one, I;m sure it will go, but look at it from a buyers point of view, they may aswell get a alien green with cup pack for the same price right................

The problem with RS cars is that some buyers want the standard car, some want cup, some want recaros, we have one customer who only buys basic cars with cup, we have another who never wants cup or recaros but has to have liquid yellow (and on meganes he has to have a pano roof)

All those people wouldn't entertain a car that didn't meet their spec!

I had AG with cup and recaros, that's what I'd have again if I had another.

Agreed, everyone has different taste.

I would have liked the seats, but a standard non cup popped up local, one owner, 13k miles and 8 Renault services inc all belts. It's just like a new car. I'm not going to pass that by for an average condition cup car.

KTEC racing and no Recaros are the problem for me, though I suspect it wouldnt be a problem for most. Reconsider the price. DEFO remove any reference to KTEC. Remove anything about the remap and put it back to standard if you can.

Ive been a lover of Clios since 17 - A RB182 hoofed it past me while I was braying my 1.2 16v Expression and thats what started it all for me, spent a lot of time on the ClioSport forums and trust me KTEC is one stty egg.

The fact it isn't standard would put me off. I also think black doesn't suit it well - hides the black bumper detail and makes it look like a normal Clio (no renaultsport badge either). Maybe get the wheels painted grey as per current trend to make it look more sporty and revert engine to standard! I don't think it seems expensive.

As said, no cup chassis and KTEC remap and exhaust. These normally create flat spots. Most RS owners will only trust a RS Tuning remap and it is a must after messing with the exhaust.

Also to me the suspension looks high, I know its not the cup but the difference is normally just 15mm between cup and non-cup and the cup is much lower than that - I had a black one for 5 years.

Interestingly I traded in my Black cup one with no recaros 6 months ago and the dealer sold it for about the price you are asking - and it was a 59 reg on 43k miles.

In short, it looks blander than a bland thing and it has a poor spec.

Remove all reference to K-tec as anyone with an RS Clio of any age knows they divide opinion and re write the advert so it doesn't discuss the bhp differences.

It's not on AutoTrader too. Only RS fans would but these and they would probably mainly look on AT, Ebay or one of the Clio/RS forums. I have just had a look on AT at these and there are some really over priced ones that have been on sale for months. RS fans at not much more than this price level now get used Megane 250s, a much better all round car...even though I still have a soft spot/desire for another 200 as they drive like nothing else for the money

It's been on Autotrader and eBay more times than I can remember. We had '+625% compared to similar adverts' according to AT...but no calls or viewings so I can only presume it's teenage boys looking at it....!? smile

Ride height has not been messed with. I can only compare it to others on the market and it's not expensive in any way.. and I can assure anyone I'm very fussy with my cars and appearance/prep and this car is a lovely on the interior and body. (Just read our testimonials).

Anyway...looks like the last owner is going to have it back as he knows how good it is...so sometime in the next 10 days it'll be back in his garage for some summer fun. At least someone likes it and will be getting some use out of it.

I've been lucky enough to own and drive some great cars over the years.

I'm a 911ophile at heart and have several from an original 2.7RS lwt to the latest 991. And, one of my jobs also allows me to test and assess the latest exotica from other leading prestige manufacturers.

But, my favourite car of all time is the little Renaultsport Clio RS200. I bought one as a runaround 6 years ago, and 50k mls on, I absolutely adore it - so much that I am desperately looking for another - one of the last, low mileage examples, in the right colour, if I can find one.

WRT the one above example, I would be put off by the mods, and personally not keen on 'black'. Spec-wise, I prefer Speedlines (although they are heavier than the standard alloys), and I prefer the RS sports seats to the recaros. 'Full Fat' is essential, but the Cup pack isn't, IMO.

Love these cars. Nothing comes close. The sweetest revving n/a engine, mated to the slickest 6-spd gearbox, and a go-kart like chassis, yet refined and practical. Threading through London, a blat across country, a trackday on the limit, or cross France (Calais to Cannes) in a day. Nothing else is more fun.

Aside the above comments, I think the font of the whole advert is difficult to read and doesn't make me want to read everything.
What doesn't help, (and I know they're different cars), but the 197's are so cheap, I just personally wouldn't be interested in spending another 4-5k for a 200.

Good luck with your sale but I would say the price is very much on the upper end

The price looks fine now, considering the miles and spec, but why is it not on autotrader?

I dont see it on ebay either?

Its priced now and it is what it is - you cant do anything about the Recaros / cup chassis and there are people out there who - like the previous owner & myself for that matter, having just bought a non Recaro'd non cup chassis 197) are happy with that.

Price looks right to me now, however it really needs to be on autotrader IMHO.

I had trouble selling my 197cup in 2012 and could not sell its replacement, a black 200 with cup pack when I tried in November/dec last year.
Both cars were immaculate 1 private owner cars garaged from new with full ren shistory.
No one wants em , which is strange as the cars are excellent. Everyone justs want to lease a fiesta St now maybe....
My old car is still for sale 2 months after I part ex it for my wife's new car. I could not sell it on autotrader and the part ex offer was £650 more than what I couldn't sell it for! Bit their hand off!
The garage now has it up for 2150 more than I couldn't sell it for. Dream on!
Garage on the green , black clio.

i think the people who the car generally appeals too , 20-30 year old lads , can't afford them.
Good luck selling...

It's not on Autotrader, but I've spent a few hundred quid on adverts on both AT and eBay and at £8500. I have a PH account so that's why it's on there. The last owner is having the car back in the next week, so it'll be back up for sale in 12months!

Regards the 'font'. Never had anyone say that before so I guess I can only cater for the masses as the website gets lots of compliments generally.

Thanks for all the input chaps.

Hi All, I'm currently trying to sell this Clio RS200 Cup and struggling to get interest.

I'm guessing I should remove the reference to KTEC on this then?

I have had no interest yet and I wonder if the KTEC part is a real turn off? Maybe the wrap on the bonnet also? Although that can be removed quite easily/

Perrsonally, i'd take the wrap off.

I can understand why you are asking what you are for the car - recaros, KTEC, cup suspension, etc, but you might just have to wait on your customer which could take a long time.

ALL of the Clio RS's that I previously was tracking even before the start of this thread are STILL for sale....

It seems a very tough market to sell them in frown

Take the cack off the bonnet and drop the price a little. It will likely get much more interest as it is in a good spec.

I'd get that wrap off ASAP. Looks terrible IMO.

You need to detail more about service history etc too.

FYI, Cruise control and speed limiter were standard on a Clio 200 (if it's a 200+ Cup that is?!).

Your car does have Cup Chassis, Speedline wheels and the RS Spoiler so
