Anyone with a Megane 250/265/275 use it for baby transport?

I'm considering one but I need to be able to get a 1yr old in and out without too much bother. The child seat I'll be using is front facing. The Megane won't be our main family car but I will be doing the nursery run a couple of times a week.

I currently have a 3 door Clio and think its do-able even with that (I've tried it!) so I'm just looking for confirmation here.

I'm also curious about Recaros' vs standard seats as far as access into the rear (although I'm not even looking at cars without Recaros' so perhaps I don't want to hear it!)

No problem with a front facing seat at all.
I've got our almost three year old in and out at least once a week. Like you we have a family car (S5 Sportback), so use that most of the time we are out with our daughter.
We've got a Brittax Duo Plus seat which has built in Isofix (so no need for base). Having previously had a seat with a base, the Duo is so much better.
275 with Recaro's by the way.

Go for it! Brilliant cars.

Both my 275 and 250 had two kids seats of various sizes (stages 1, 2 and 3) in the back.

The stage 1 was a pain as the seat didn't tilt enough to get it in, I had to move it on the runners to get the seat in, and it was a right contortion for me too.

Stage 2's were fine, but the kids were a bit younger and needed assistance getting in, as the V-shaped gap between the front seat and the door pillar was narrow and they struggled to step into the car past the belt runners etc. I usually had to throw them in the back and then dive in after to sort out straps once they'd clambered in to their seats.

Now they're in stage 3 seats (boosters with back/side support) they can get in themselves, but my 3yr old can't move his legs freely behind me in my normal seating position. I'm 5' 11''

All of the above was a worthwhile compromise given how good the cars both were!

I think I understand the Stage 1/2/3 business.....

My daughter is 10 months old so she can sit in forward facing seats. Although the seat we have for our main car keeps her rear facing until she gets bigger (as per current best practice/ soon to be EU law I believe). I'll only be using my car for collecting from nursery and other short trips.

My plan to get her in and out was to climb into empty back seat holding her, and then lift into car seat. Seemed to work OK on my Clio!
