And I'll echo the comment of it being typically citroen affordable 3 years after release.

It is but the old BMW M3 or the audi RS4 r the best. Maybe even the current MX5.

Wow it must be a great car as the guy in the first pic seems to be enjoying himself and he's not even moving. Actually, scratch that, he's laughing at the build quality...

My first impression was Audi rear lights, Ford headlights and a bit of fatness in the side, which is okay.

The nose has to meet very stringent pedestrian impact tests now, so it is a real engineering challenge to meet these tests while maintaining the stylists preferred low nose. Cars like the new Jaguar XK have to have small explosives under the bonnet so it 'pops up' a few cm in the event of an accident to protect pedestrians from the solid engine underneath. Mainstream manufacturers like Citroen couldn't use such expesnive technology in their cars.

At last - a French car that doesn't look like its been given a good thrashing with the ugly stick, set fire to, and then put out with a shovel.

So for that reason alone I bet they'll either never make it, or by the time they do, it'll be fed a good gulp of gruesome pills.

Aside from the Citroen C6 which does have a Jaguar style pop-up bonnet...

It's got a big gob but other than that looks very nice. It'll be apallingly built and unreliable but very cheap so not all bad.

But I don't want pedestrians impacting my car. I want big bars under the bonnet ready to spring into action if someone gets in my way. Maybe that way, pedestrian will actually look where they're going

I agree the front overhang is terrible:

So i agree it wont look like that when its released but you wont have to wait too long to see the base for it. The new C5 comes out in March and is a real step forward. At the moment Citroen are going through some model changes, the C2,C4,C4 Picasso,C6 & C-Croseer are all the new generation cars whereas the C3,C5 & Xsara Picasso are the older generation models.

The new ones are a bargain, the build quality is high. I have recently tried VW, Renault, Ford, Vauxhall, Maxda & Citroen & the Citroen build quality and Diesel engines were by far the best.

Check out a C-Crosser - ok its got Mitsubishi body & 4x4 train but the engines are Citroen & they are so good that Mitsubishi have bought the engine from Citroen.

Dont hold your breath for cashbacks tho

I like that, looks much better than a new shape 3 series ever will with it's roof down, and almost on par with Audi's latest cabrio offerings (in terms of how aesthetically pleasing it is) in my opinion.
Certainly one of the better looking cabrio-saloons out there, here's hoping they've the testicular fortitude to churn them out.

I'm sorry to be the odd one out here... but I think all the latest 'big overhang' Citreons look **absolutely bloody ridiculous**. Whenever I see one on the road I crack up laughing - they look like some bizarre futuristic barges, and are usually driven by 50-60 yr olds who clearly have little taste of their own.

Citreons styling department has taken 5-year old Ferrari styling and tried to apply it to these bulky god-awful styling excercises.

Pass me the bucket.
