Hi Adam,

We have one and love it.

Our car is a 57 plate from MotorPoint

It's standard spec apart from metallic paint

MoH will be along shortly with a full report.

If you have any specific questions ask away.

Hi Adam,

Catherine's Other Half, now, this Clio 197....what can I tell you...

I came out of a BMW 330d, so as you can imagine, I had my reservations. These were quickly put to bed. It is an absoloute hoot to drive, plenty of power, incredibly well planted, and drives likeit is on rails. It regularly puts cars twice its price to shame and I like it more every time i drive it.

Minus points - as Catherine said, we bought it from motorpoint, so no choice on spec - no leather, sat nav or audio update, but for what we saved on list, who cares - I can always buy myself a TomTom!!!

Get one, you will not be disappointed......unless you come across a cheap, minted condition V6, but I doubt it!!!!

I have just had a 197 for the last 3 months / 11,000 miles. It was a fantastic car, comfortable, quick, managed about 29mpg on average. Don't be concerned by all this talk of 'kangarooing' - I had no issues at all. Yes, you do need to let the engine warm up 1st thing in the morning - if you do it is fine.

Go to your local dealer and get a drive in one - there are still number R27s available !

197 is a good car, but I'd try a Trophy before going for a 197.

Do you own a 197 then Warren?

I'm shocked you did'nt recommend a ph1 172 tbh.

Nope, don't own a 197. Had one for a day, took one out on track. Owned a 172 ph2, 182cup, now looking for a ph1 172. 197 is a great car, but it feels slower than the previous hot clio's. I agree with most magazine reviews, great handling car but feels underpowered.

Trophy would be my choice as well. If only because of the extra weight that 197 brings.

I test drove the r27 197 about a week ago.

To my shock I was let out alone so I went bananas lol.

Competant car but its still all or nothing with it. I kind of like that, finally got the urge to own one out of my system though.

Excellent news Adam, you won't be disapointed and I guess your car will have the revised gearbox.

Longer top gear (or is it the top 2...)
