saxo vts in 106

my first thoughts turned to how do you shoehorn a VTS into a 106 then i thought that would be silly but what else can he mean? is it another can you fit a saxo dash in a 106 thread or even better can a vts engine fit in a 106....

If so take advice above and look for yourself using a search function of some sort.

ok, get a 106gti cant be much money now, would be less money overall once you've taken into consideration engine swap, brakes (presume your using a 1.4 saxo) and insurance

Agreed, it would be cheaper insurance than modding a 1.4.
And then there will be also a far better suspension and brake set up already done for you.
You'll only have to wire up some blue LED's and you'll be away.

its not as hard suposidly as it sounds my freind runs a 106 1.0 kid and he has transformed it into an absolute weapon hes running a lightly tuned vts engine and totaly stripped the interior and it will give a type r a run for its money no problems! and the whole lots cost him under 2k inc brakes bucket seats the lot its a real track monster for the money

It's a dead easy swop. The Saxo and 106 are pretty much mechanically identical in case you didn't already know!

Unbolt the old engine, bolt in the new one. In a phase 1 106 you will need to grind a bit off the o/s inner wing. The wiring can be a bit awkward- you need the ecu and engine loom from the VTS, and the ecu will either need to be 'unlocked' so it doesn't immobilise or you'll need the transponder, keys et al. from the VTS.

Before you do it though it's worth seeing what other 16v 106's are up for sale because you might be able to buy one cheaper than you can build one.
