[quote=alolympic]I am also looking into getting a 182. I am almost convinced before actually driving one. Before I waste someones time test driving, my only concern left is how loud they are at motorway speed because of short gearing. What rpm at 70 mph?
Thanks, any help appreciated.[/quote
The Clio is so quiet on the motorway compared to the Elise.

3.5K at 70 sounds about right. It is comfortable but not quiet on the motorway.
I don't think the dampers have failed, but when pushed down a bumpy road it doesn't half bounce around a bit. I am often a bit worried i will go over the wrong type of bump and end up on the wrong side of the road (this has happened before!) at the wrong moment.

Can't say I have found bouncing around too much of a problem (although the 182 Cup does have even more stiff suspension than the 172 Cup). It does tend to follow the camber of the road and tramline a bit. The handling is definately lively. Likes to wag the tail on the brakes biggrin

Must say when I had a ride in a friends Trophy the main thing I noticed was how much more planted it felt on uneven B-roads.
