Personally, I think that you are barking up the wrong tree here...

Can I go against the grain and say this is an excellent thread! I am currently working on some brake discs made from velour. If anyone's interested. Don't F1 cars have a plank of wood underneath..............

Mine are velcro. If you can think of a stickier substance I'd like to hear it.

Save time and hassle doing the rear one, instead of fitting and making one for the rear, just fold the rear seats down flat, get better weight distrubution, and lowers the center of gravity of the car, making it handle even better wink
or even better, plant a seed in the back of your car and nature will do it's job to create the best spoiler exhaust and bumper kit you've ever seen!

Aaahhh, the glorious merits of timber... the possibilities are endless!

10/10 for creativity smile

Do remember though

  • Polishing your car after washing it aids the aerodynamics - making it faster.
  • Remove your wheel weights, handbrake and mirrors - shed some unwanted weight.
  • Cover your number plates with hairspray, making them invisible to Gatso's.
These definitely work

dont the strut tops need to twist when you move the steering wheel? the shocks are mounted on bearings, you know that thing they do when you go round corners? i really hope this is a wind up

I'm not sure you'll get an answer. I think most of the people originally connected to this thread have been buried in pyramids or retired or something.

It took a while to fabricate but oh boy is it worth it.

The car corners much flatter, feels more solid at the front end, and all those local corners I know so well can be taken 10mph more quickly and with much more confidence. Clearly the 172 front end is a thing of fragility as the stiffening has transformed it. Yes that's wood btw, a long way from any real heat and I'm sure the plastic would melt before the wood caught on fire smile
you are kidding?

Yew must be joking, the OP deserves birching for that. It's not going to be Poplar with the girls either; he's never going to get the chance to Honeysuckle some Cherry whilst driving a Box of crap like that around. The Plum has got some nerve showing that on here without a good Spruce up; his Balsa like Coconuts I reckon. The Nutmeg needs to Teak it away before anyone else makes terrible puns.

I'm going to put a Cork in it now before my Breadnuts get Cashewed.
