No problem, happy to help.

I'm getting about 35mpg, I do very low mileage and haven't had any problems so far other than things that should have been picked up on pre-delivery which weren't (Freeborn Citroen are useless in this respect, Citroen are let down by their poor dealer network in general I think though Slough Citroen main dealer have been excellent)

Only things so far are front ball joints were worn and replaced (under warranty) as these should have been done for me, recent service found a very slow power steering leak and that's all so far! I had the alloys on the near side redone as they had a couple of scratches on them from the previous owner.

I'm borrowing a C3 from Slough at the moment whilst they do the power steering leak... man I miss the '6!!! It's a beautiful car to drive and just so unusual!

Cheers

Oh and I put new fronts on it, went with Hancook V12s as they were better priced than the Michelins which have also been plagued with problems like cracked side walls from other C6 drivers' reports (though my rears are still OK)

Hey glad to see you are still enjoying the motor! My first time into the 'french bred' forum and thought it would be rude not to (finally) sign up and show my appreciation after seeing your thread! OP is a man of taste indeed.

Cheers Crizzy I'm still in love with this motor. I have hardly seen any on the road since buying mine and it turns heads!

My MPG in the winter went down to about 25MPG though I hardly do any mileage and it was OK to drive in the snow. As temps get back up I'm getting over 30 again.

Road tax is due at the end of the month - I don't care it's extremely expensive, the government won't stop me owning the car I love for the sake of a few hundred quid, it's just the reason behind the tax that grates and the fact that there isn't always much to show for it. Shouldn't tax be based on mileage too? I'm sure with my low mileage I create less Co2 than my mum's Daihatsu Copen!

Another sneaky pic?

I really really like these.

Can't particularly put my finger on it, they seem to have a "thing" about them, similar to that of why people love classic minis, if anyone catches my drift.

Thanks Doodles. I can stand and look at it all day. Everyone thinks I'm really sad to own such a huge and ridiculous car at the age of 28, but deep down they all wish they had the balls to be as cool (That's my assessment of the situation and I'm sticking with it, OK?!)

Stunning car. Looks absolutely amazing.
To my eyes one of THE nicest cars on the roads.
I know there aren't too many around but every time I do see one I want one.
I too would be very very proud if that was mine.

Somehow i've only just spotted this thread. I saw one of these in the flesh for the first time the other day, it looked fantastic. It looks even better in black. I recognise your brother's Rallye Register username too, for such a small forum there sure are a lot of us on here biggrin

Thanks guys for the kind words. I have an excuse to do a motorway cruise today so I'm looking forward to stretching its legs on the M40.

Here is a pic showing how impractical the C6 is for general use (which is why I love it)

I have a list of shopping centers I can't visit because I can't fit through the sometimes stupidly shaped entrances with unnecessarily harsh kerbs, but on the other had I have persevered and found free open air parking at nearly all these places a short walk away!

I'm not sure if I told you about the champagne... the rear arm rest, when folded down, makes the perfect table for a mini bottle of champagne and two glasses. I don;t have a photo of it for some reason but it's quite funny, extra glasses fit nicely in the door bins:

It's fair to say I really do adore this thing. I'm probably sounding a bit sad now.

Cheers

Oh here's the pic which is meant to be first in my last post, showing the sheer size of the 6

Just re-read my post and still find it amazing that even after having this car a year on valentines day, I'm still as genuinely excited about diving it as the day I got it. Owning a car that divides opinion is excellent, weather people love it or hate it I like the fact it makes people react at all, and to still want excuses to drive the car or even just to drive it about for fun is surely a mark of a truly great vehicle?

Everything in my head says "you have to be a fool to buy one" but then you look at the little details... that rear window, and the quirkiness of old Citroens come back.

Top motor. Thread bookmarked. smile

Thanks guys.. I think for £39,000 you would have to be a bit mental to buy one new, but used, they make a fantastic buy. You're right to say that it's the quirky bits from Citroens of old back again. Looking carefully at the car compared to others you can see bits of SM, CX, GS, DS...

Another pic?

Stunning. One of these over a 5 Series or E-Class anyday. Sublime ride quality, properly well built, and genuinely beautiful to look at inside and out. I always give a nod to drivers of these, same with the Vel Satis or Avantime; true French quirks all wrapped into a love it or hate it package.

I regularly pass a Vel Satis on the way to work. I love the look of the front on them. Must be quite an unusual sight in the UK, too.

this photo reminds me of my grandads CX he had years ago, the lines and just the stance of the thing hunkered down, like it has arrived from outer space.

Lovely car fella.

Mr. Brightside, I remember reading one road test saying how it looks like a 'crashed spaceship' which I thought was quite good!
