Guys, hoping someone can help ?

The OH, clio (2000 W Reg) radio seems to have stopped working, the battery was disconnected and re connected, normally we just enter the radio code when requested however this time the screen just states 'CODE' and the option to enter a code is not there nor do any of the controls work.

Any ideas, or disconect and re connect battery ??

Thanks

I would just buy the code from one of the many people offering this service on eBay. Should cost under £3, all you need is the serial number from the side of the radio.

It'll be worth disconnecting the battery again for 5-10minutes after letting everything power down.

If then it still displays CODE and does not change into "0000", then leave the radio on, with the ignition on and it should in time change. Usually people get this if they're entering the code incorrectly, and the more incorrect codes you enter the longer you have to wait.

HTH.

Just ring a Renault dealership. They can look up on the computer the code for your car and tell you free of charge. At least this is what they did a couple of times for me on my 2002 Clio 172 Cup.

This isn't the OP's problem...

Speak to a dealer and ask if there is an "OTS" for defective radio on your car.

It won't be applicable.

The current OTS is regarding faulty radio's when the temperature dips below 0°c. Dis-connecting and reconnecting the radio, is part of the check to determin whether or not it's covered...

Try pressing the little red button in the top left corner, that switches it on and off.

Hi, did you get this sorted at all?

I took my girlfriends car in today for discs/pads and a driveshaft and when I gave it her back she's informed me the stereo wont't work, the lcd on the dash is blank as if there's no power to it. It doesn't ask for a code either.

Grrrr!

There is a website specifically for Renault codes, worked a treat on my mates previous Clio. It's free, run by or guy, can't find it for the life of me, so sorry about that, but it's out there!

I've got a radio cassette with code for a 2001 Clio (last of the old shape).

Hope someone can make use of it.

Hey, guys! If you are in need of a radio code, I suggest you check out unlockradiocodes.com. My car battery died on me a couple of days ago and my radio was rendered useless as a result. They were kind enough to give me my code and the guides in their website helped me a great deal as I’m not much of a car person. My radio is working again now so I can definitely vouch for their service.
